Best time to go?

We have been to WDW every year for the past 7 years but never to DL. This year will be our first trip with DD (5) and DS (7). Since our kids are now in school our vacation times are limited. We are considering going around Easter (Wed before to Tue after), the week of Memorial Day or sometime in midsummer. Are any of these times good? We normally go to WDW in Jan/Feb to beat the crowds. We went once in July and the crowds were way more than we could handle. How are the crowds at DL compared to WDW?

What are the must see things with small children?

Thanks for your help
Beth

Out of those three times, I think I'd pick Memorial Day. You'll have the best weather and the least crowds, although it won't be uncrowded by any means.

Make sure you check out Hydroguy's Tips sticky on the top of this page. Every WDW vet should read his "DLR for WDW Vets" thread.

Here is a link: "A DLR Guide for WDW Vets" www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1162599

Also, OP be careful about trying too hard to avoid crowds at DLR. See: "What You Should Know About Off-Season at DLR" www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=18462889

Finally, summer at DLR is a different animal than WDW. The weather is more tolerable, for one. And the layout of DLR and location in SoCal allows for a different approach. So I would say that July at DLR and WDW are not very comparable. See "Getting The Most Out of a Summer Visit To DLR" www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1345319

i agree with DangerMouse that Memorial Day will be the least crowded so that may be a good bet if you understand the issues with show limitations as discussed in the above links.

Thanks for all the great information! I think we will look into going over Memorial Day week.
