We are trying to decide when the best time to go to Disney World in regards to low crowds. We are looking at the weeks following the Martin Luther King Holiday weekend until President's Day weekend. We plan on staying for 7 days. Has anyone been during these times? How are the crowds? Is there a better time to go?

How about a BUMP for some responses.........................

I have found the best time for me as far as crowds go is between the last week of January and the 2nd full week of Feb. Usually not too crowded. Just watch out if you schedule during speedweeks. No activity in Daytona means bigger crowds in Disney. Hope this helps. Loucrew :groom:

I've been to wdw many times..The worst crowds I have ever seen was on the Sunday before President's Day. The races were in Daytona so I thought it wouldn't be too bad. WRONG. We had a wait time on all rides, even Small World of at least forty minutes. Space Mountain was one hour and forty minutes. MGM was not so bad the day before, and we had a great time, but I would not advise anyone to go then. :crazy2:

January for low crowds! This year we went Jan. 22-28 and it was so great! Most rides were nearly walk-ons. To give you an idea, my son complained when a wait was more than 15 minutes. :sad2: He's going to be in for a big shock when we go back in June. Our longest wait was for the bus going from MK to SSR on our last day there. We got all our ADR's for the times requested about one month before we left. (except Le Cellier) Another January plus is that the Florida weather feels good. :sunny: One year we started our trip Jan. 2 and caught the tail end of the holiday crowds. For two years we went around Jan. 5th and were there during marathon weekend, which was no big deal in the parks. Your planning is right on track! :goodvibes

For the past 2 yrs. we have gone the week of MLK week and the crowds were great. 10 min. waits. We are going again the same time in 2007. We only go during value season when the crowds are low anyways. We are going the 1st week of Oct. and the week after Thanksgiving. After reading a lot of tips, these are also some good times to go. We will just be happy to be in Disney World!!!!
Have fun!

My next arrival date is January 21st, for 5 nights. I planned it that way because from all that I have read here, it should be really low crowds.
The majority of the trip is *during* a week, not on the week-end, so it should be really great. :yay:
