it looks like i am going to OD on WDW this year. i took my mom for christmas & bought an AP. then we decided to treat my cousin (28) & her 2 kids to a halloween trip. then i decided to buy her an AP and have a "grownup's trip" (just me and her) in may. then last night 8-yr.-old cousin asked me to please (PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE) take her in the summer time.

i really hate summers at WDW (have gotten spoiled to traveling in the off-season).

anyway summer is the only time she can go (dad won't let her skip school). what would be the best time to take her? june is out because i won't have any vacation time then due to may trip. can go in july or early august. what is the best time?

THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!!!!

The last two years I've been there during the first full week in August. We found it to be a good time. You get more hours at the parks because many are open later at night and the crowds have not been bad. -HM

We were there the 11th through the 16th of August last summer, and it was great. The crowds were pretty low. The temps were in the high 80's to low 90's and it did rain pretty much everyday, but we had plenty of time to do and see everything we wanted--- and the rain didn't stop us, at all.

There were no early entry mornings at that time, so we couldn't take advantage of that, either. If you stay onsite, you will be able to do that, which is really great, especially for doing the Magic Kingdom. They will probably have at least on E ticket night in the MK while you are there, as well.

The parks are still staying open fairly late during August, so you will be able to take advantage of a break in the afternoon.

It is a shame you can't take her in the off season, but I have friends who won't take their children out of school either. Me, being of a different view point, has taken mine out for 3 Disney trips, with no damage to her grades at all. She is also 8. Anyway... to each his own. Hope you have a fantastic time!

We went last summer for July 4th week, which was very exciting. It was very crowded and we did the parks day-on, day off. We didn't go to ANY park on the actual holiday -- I chickened out. But everything was up and running, the parks opened early and stayed open late, and the fireworks were simply amazing!

I have a friend who went the very first week in June, two summers ago. Lots of kids are still in school (hers were done) and she said it was great. Not too hot and not too crowded. I think peak summer is mid-June til mid-August.

Have fun!
