Is there any better time of year to cruise when the seas are smoother?
Also how worried should I be about being sick during and after the cruise. I have read many posts on people being sick for days after...
Starting to really reconsider my fantasy of being a cruiser!
:sad2:

I've had many people tell me not to cruise in winter because the seas are rougher (although I can't imagine them being much rougher than in hurricane season!). We cruised in late November/early December as well as in January and found that the seas can be a little rough, but not so much as to make us uncomfortable. Some of that depends on where your cabin is. Our last cruise (late November) we had a cabin very close to the front of the ship and noticed the rocking of the boat quite a bit. Even so, the only person in our group of 8 was my DD9 who got sick for one evening. A friendly cruiser let her borrow arm bands and she was fine after that. I think it depends on the individual as far a sea-sickness, although she didn't suffer any affects after the cruise.
