best time to book flight for Jan/Feb?

Hello,
We are planning a Disney trip for approx the first 2 weeks of Feb. 2002.
Ive got the hotel and car booked.
Now I need some tips on how to get a good fare out of Toronto.
I can recall other years reading ads in the Newspaper for $169 - $199.00 flights.
Some have told me that when you call to book one of these flights there are often no seats left! So my question(s) are: When is the best time to book so that I get a great rate? and How would I go about doing that?

We went at the end of Jan. this year and I got tickets for 139.00 with Can 3000 on Wed and we left on Sat.I found the price on the net at the airline web site. Keep looking for deals. E.

WOW!! i hope I luck out like that!! When you check the airlines websites, do you just key in your dates, or is there a "specials"section?
Also can anyone tell me if there are any other charters from Toronto besides air transat and Canada 3000?

Karen, I keyed in the dates but the notice of prices came up first. Also check the Toronto Star saturday travel section, they have good updates. E.

I use belairtravel.com to keep checking all the cdn charters. I'm going the end of Sept and will probably book next week. In the past month, the prices have dropped close to $100/ticket. I usually wait until Tues mornings as that it often when prices change after they've had time to assess weekend sales. Because I go during off season, I can usually afford to wait until 4 weeks out. Thank you. I just went to belair travel, and put in my dates, and apparently they will let me know of any deals. (I will still visit the site often to check). The best rate right now is $250.00.

Im also wondering if there are typically better days of the week to fly out on? ie would a Wed be better than a Fri?
Ive never booked airline tix online before...anything special I should be aware of as opposed to calling a Travel agent?
