Me, my DH & DITS (Identical Twin Sis)

Are all going to WDW in 59 days and we plan to make our first park MK as my DITS has never vacationed outside Europe before and we want to give her the WOW factor to the start of the vaction.

I have seen the opening hours for the end of August and as we are stating off site, we won't be allowed in before 9.00 i guess.

But, what would be the best time to arrive to ensure we are at the front of the line to get in?

Oh we have pre-purchased the MYW passes so we just need to que for the entrance.

Hope some one can advise...

I've never been in the front of the line to get into any park, so this is a guess. I would say, maybe, an hour before opening?

We usually arrive about fifteen minutes before park openings. We aren't the first ones in the parks, but we don't have a wait on any ride lines, either.

Hi, I was at WDW in May - at the time of the start of the celebration 5/5 - 5/11. My husband and I (without our kids) actually managed to arrive at the MK right as it opened. It was FABULOUS! I have NEVER been to a park at opening before, due to 3 pokey kids. We walked on rides for over an hour and took pictures of an empty Main Street and the Castle without crowds all over it. I just cannot say how neat it was to be there early! I don't know if I will ever be able to do it again - those 3 putzy kids.....but if you can get moving early it is worth it.

Happy planning - I reread your post and I know I didn't answer your question! Sorry!! But....Go early - you won't be sorry!!

I don't know HOW early you have to arrive to literally be the first ones in line, but arriving at 8:20-8:30 will put you close enough. Several days when we were there they had a little "show" to open the park, then at about 8:45 they let people into the park. At the entrance to each "land" there were cast members holding a rope that they dropped at 9 am.

The trick is, when they let you into the park, WALK QUICKLY TOWARD YOUR FIRST RIDE! Don't stop to take pictures, look in the shops, get character autographs or get a snack. There will be plenty of time for that in the afternoon when the rides are packed. Get to those first rides early and you'll have a blast!

If you really want to wow them, book an 8:00am breakfast at the Crystal Palace. You will get to walk through an empty mainstreet and be one of the few inside. You will also get to meet Winnie the Pooh which seems very UKish.
