Best time slot for Goofy's kitchen at Dinner?

We will be going on a Thursday night in October for my Son's 5th birthday. Is there a time that may be better/less crowded?

We went for their first reservation which was 5pm I believe - it was nice getting there early - especially as DD was still 4 at the time and we usually eat at 5 anyway. There were probably 50 people also going in at the same time and it definitely got more crowded as the evening went on.

Goofy's for dinner is not a character meal, in case you were hoping for them. I like early dinner as you know you will get seated on-time.

Are you sure? The Disneyland website shows that it is

It was still a character meal for dinner when I went in December.

We had dinner at 7:30pm at goofy's kitchen last year and all the characters were there. I hope that has not changed.

It is still a character meal at dinner time. Maybe the PP was thinking of PCH Grill at the PPH. It only has characters at breakfast and the Plaza Inn is also only a character breakfast.

5pm has always worked well for us. Just get there a few minutes early as all the 5pm people are checking in at the same time, since that is when they open.

We had dinner at Goofy's in March and there were characters. We had a 5:30 reservation. It didn't start getting busy until about 6:30.

We had dinner there last week at 530. We usually try to get the 500 but the 530 wasn't bad either. And yes it is still a character meal. It did change from rotating characters to the same 5 a while back but we Definately had characters!

We like close to 5 just because if we eat much later, the natives get restless!
