Late September and most of October are among the few times of the year when Disneyworld is less crowded. Because of this, you can reserve a room at the value resorts for just over $100, which is a nice deal. The moderate and deluxe resorts also adjust their prices. During some off-peak times ticket package deals are also offered that can save you quite a bit of money.

Flight wise from uk avoid last 2 weeks of October if you can due to half term

Scotland has an earlier oct half term which can impact on Manchester flight prices too

i beg to differ with the "week following labor day until just prior to turkey day"
the crowds in november this year were much higher than what we have experienced in the past.
Whether the culprit was free dining, or food and wine, or jersey week, or veterens day or all of the above - it is definitely NOT in the lowest attendance group anymore.

we were just discussing this and came to the conclusion that possibly the best time is september, since no americans will take their kids out of school just after it has first started (while they will without a second thought any other time of the year).
And in september you still have good weather.
While October still has good weather, there are more guests than in september.

we're seriously considering september for the big family reunion trip in 2016.
