Best time on the mile?

I was just randomly thinking, considering I ran the mile yesterday, and was noticing now how sore my legs are, cause my gym teachers didn't let us stretch before we ran. Eggheads. :rolleyes:

So, if you've recorded a mile time, what was your best that you can remember? My best time was 7:07 for four laps around our track.
 
8 min and some sec.'s I think.
we have to make it in 12 min.'s for cheering.
 
my personal best time was....uhm....10 minutes and 13 seconds??

you should see some of the guys at my school:sad2:

two of them that run together, they are best friends, but they get a-freakin-mazing times!! im talking 5 somethings. like they both got exactly 4:02 on the 3/4 mile. i hate them, but they are my friends sooo....:laughing:

anyways, i dont do that good on it:)
 

We don't do that.

We do a 15 minute run and count our laps. I've never actually ran the entire time so I usually have like 18.
And the beep test, my first time it was 1.5 and my second time it was 2.
I'm pretty bad.
 
My best in track was like 7min and 12sec for a mile.

i'm going for under 7min, next time. For me its better to have a goal to reach, it makes me want it 10x more. :)

But yes, stretching is a very important thing when it comes to running, i've learned that the hard way:rolleyes:
 
I had to run the mile for a track meet.
I got sick and threw up.
All the people were Boo-ing me.
I told them to suck an egg:p
 
Well a mile for me in 19 laps around my school's parking lot.
We run a mile twice a month for gym
My best was about 6 min.

my best time was about 8 mins. lol.
when i could breathe good. :p
 
My mile time is 6:03.

I am hoping to go under 6 minutes for gym.
 
Over 9 minutes, that's for sure. Probably like 11.5 or something like that.
 
7:25 this past September. I could have done a lot better... :(
 
We don't do the mile run for gym.
We used to do this thing called the pacer, I guess that's what Hilary meant by the beep test, I hated it.

But we warm up for lacrosse every day after school by either doing Indian sprints, jogging up an incline, or running three miles.
Our three mile time (as a team) is usually around 15-25 minutes though, since we pace ourselves.

So I dunno what my mile time would be, but it'd probably be good because I'm used to running long distance.
 
I think my best would have to be NOT DYING.

I cant run 5 metres without collapsing in a pool of unfitness.
 
Mine's like 10:13.
Haha. I suck at running and half the time I forget about taking my inhaler. I really good care less about what I get though.
 
No clue. It's probably over 10 minutes, though. I can't run at all. I absolutely suck at running. I can't even run one lap without walking. I ran 3 laps in 9:03 (Which one more lap would have been a mile)
