Best Time of Year for Wedding

We were married on December 30, 1988. We wanted to marry on New Years' Eve (to start a brand new year together and married), but we couldn't find anyone to cater the reception. So, we went with the day before. It also allowed out of town relatives to come in and stay for a few days afterward.

We are planning a VR and would like to keep the same date. We were engaged on the 5th anniversary of our first date.

I live in Florida and I would NEVER get married in September (unless I had absolutely no other choice) because it is so HOT... and I mean HOT! Just the thought of that heat and wearing a wedding dress makes me want to faint.

And September is prime hurricane season. Hurricane season is from the end of June to the beginning of November and we sometimes see a lot of activity near the end of the season.

We are getting married in January.

what is the weather typically like in jan? we are having a 10am ceremony...i'm worried that our guests will be cold outside...

Did anyone get married in April? If so how was the weather?

I got married at the Yacht Club this past April (EOM). The weather for the week leading up to the ceremony was beautiful (shorts & t-shirts weather the whole time). The day of the ceremony it threatened to rain, but didn't. This actually turned out in our favor because they set up the outdoor Gazebo location for our ceremony (at 2:30) and the indoor location for our reception (it was intimate, so cake, dance, and toasts). This was PERFECT because it was beautiful outside, we got some great pictures without having to stare into the sun, AND we got some air conditioning for ourselves and our guests to eat cake & do reception stuff. Afterwards, we went to Chef Mickey's for dinner - so got the character pictures in our wedding attire too!!!

Our honeymoon (DCL) the week after was also beautiful. Sweatshirt weather at best - even out at sea!

They might be. Averages are around 50 for lows and 70 for highs. Florida weather is just so crazy. It cold be hot in Jan or it can be freezing... I am keeping my fingers crossed for nice cool weather but not freezing.

Wow, lots of December brides here... I'm one too. I'm getting married on 12/14/07 at SBP. December seems like a pretty good month to get married, in terms of weather. :thumbsup2 I think November, April, or May would be really nice, too. :goodvibes

To answer a few questions:

October is statistically the driest month of the year. As for hurricanes, the season ends on November 1. September has gotten a bad rep the past few years for having hurricanes but it didn't used to be that way. For those of you who have concerns about this may I make a suggestion: get married in September if you want and then go on your honeymoon in November say around Thanksgiving. It would be a perfect time and you won't have to worry about which family sees you that day or worst case scenario: having to eat 2 dinners!
