Hello! Planning a visit in December to enjoy the holiday season at Disney for the first time! I need help finding the best time of month to visit. I'm planning on a 7 day trip, my biggest concern is that since we rarely go, I definitely want to avoid any ride closures/refurbs. I was thinking 7-14th to avoid most of the Christmas Vacation crowds, but I wouldn't want to do that at the expense of closures. Does anyone have input to help me? Any links to past December month closures so I can get some kind of idea? Thank you for the help! :)

I think you have picked a good week. December is considered a high season so referbs are going to be minimal. Only the current ongoing projects such as the Princess Fantasy Fair area in DL might still have walls that are up.

Hydroguys tips for high vs low season might have some good tips for you:

and also the holiday thread... the first posts are mostly photo links, but if you page down further there are some good articles on things such as the super in demand disneyland candy canes and how to get them:

We always go the week after Thanksgiving... and Christmastime at DLR is the best!! Enjoy!

we've had our best Holiday trip the weekend after Thanksgiving. Kids are back at school and travel is pretty much wrapped up before christmas breaks. Last year we went third-week of dec and it was like night and day--never again! Our december trip now will always be the first week/end of december from now on!
