Best time frame for Priceline bid?

I've searched but can't find a clear answer. I'll be needing a car for two weeks in late Jan- early Feb. and am wondering when is the best time to place a Priceline bid. Right now I can get an economy for the advertised price of $13/day plus fees, which isn't bad. Will this go up or down as I get closer and is there a "sweet spot" for bidding? I've never used Priceline for a car before, only hotels, and I know sometimes if you wait too close to the date, the price increases. Thanks!

The site below is incredibly helpful for me when booking anything through Priceline or Hotwire. It is a message board full of members giving you suggestions before you bid and users leaving their "winning" prices after they book. They also have a forum for Priceline & Hotwire Car Rentals.

Thank you! I'd forgotten about that site! Has anyone used the site and found if it is better to wait or to bid early? Now to decide on a car rental location....
