Best time for Chef Mickey's breakfast?

We currently have a resvtn. for Chef Mickey's at 7AM, but are wondering if this is too early? Do the characters arrive much later, or will we be too early and then be sitting around waiting for them to arrive? How long do the breakfasts usually last, meaning that you eat, and see all the characters? We'd love to be able to get to MK by opening. Any thoughts?

We did 7am and everybody showed up promptly.

I saw the Characters before I got seated at my chair
then rode the monorail to Epcot so I can't comment on making it to opening or not at MK but I almost made for Epcot (at least I didn't see the preshow but was one of the first on Spaceship Earth

We did a 715, saw everyone. Took the monorail to MK and got there a few minutes before opening ceremony.

it is a normal opening, i.e. 9:00 AM, you shouldn't have any trouble making it for the pre show and rope drop. 8:00 AM could be difficult if you plan to see all of the characters.

If you are worried about time when you finish your meal, walking to MK is a bit quicker than the monorail normally.
