How far in advance do you usually make reservations?

I know this is pretty far advance but-- We are planning a off-site trip for a family of 6 for the 1st week of Dec. 2004. Any advice on bargain hunting and when to book hotel, plane, etc..

Welcome to the DIS boards!

With all that lead time, your best bet is to start with The Mousesavers Website . There is a wealth of info there and you can sign up for the monthly newsletter that will provide special promotions and discounts available only to subscribers.

Given that you are 16 months out, it is a bit early to start booking stuff, so the more you read and research in the next few months, the better prepared you'll be when the time comes to make ressies.

Some airlines (SWA in particular) don't publish their flight schedules until 4 to 6 months prior to flight dates, so you are really limited as to how early you can book if you are going that route.

Have fun planning!
