We arrive at CBR on May 31st and I thought it would be fun for our girls who will be 3 and 2 when we go to attend the Chip N Dale's Campfire. We are though going to have to eat beforehand so I booked us into the Whispering Canyon for dinner at 5:25 Would this be the closest option for a table service restaurant to the Campsite at Fort Wilderness? I am not sure the distance between Wilderness Lodge and the Campsite and was hoping it would be walking distance. I just want getting from point A to point b to be as easy as possible. Is there another restaurant I should consider? Thanks so much! :goodvibes

Isn't Trail's End Buffet at FW?
I could be making that up.

I'm interested in knowing this too as we'd also like to do the campfire one evening. :)

I would eat at the campground at Trail's End buffet. WL and the campgrounds do have a daytime walking path but it is (I believe) a mile. There is a boat that can get you there, but eating at the campground would be my first choice i think :)

Other then that I think Whispering Canyon is the closest restaurant but theres no bus/ferry direct from WL to FW

another one I'd think about, if you're relying on disney transportation, is Chef Mickeys (or any of the other restaurants) at the Contemporary. You would be taking the ferry from the MK anyway, so making a stop at the Contemporary wouldn't be bad.

I vote for Whispering Canyon Cafe and then boat over to the campfire (or walk the path to the campfire)

Trails End is a good buffett(fairly cheep by Disney prices too) and my be more to the liking of little ones, from TE you can walk, about 1/2 mile to the movie, or you can board one of the internal buses(yellow or orange) heading to Outpost, tell the driver you want to go to the movie and they will help you with the right stop. If the adult members of your party are set on WCC or you can't change your ADR it is fairly simple to get from WL to FW. There is a bus that runs between the resorts,it is actually the internal FW Orange bus, so it will take you right to the movie(the bus marquee will say Fort Wilderness when it arrives at WL and will change to Orange Outpost when it enters FW)

When the movie is over and you need to get back to your resort you will need to go to any open park.
To get to MK board the bus that says Settlement(color won't matter at this point) from the Settlement stop, walk past Pioneer Hall(home of HDDR and TE) to the boat dock, board the boat to MK(left side of the dock)

To get to all other parks or DTD board the Outpost bus(again, don't worry about the color). At Outpost you will transfer to a bus for your chosen park or DTD.

No comment on the closest restaurant. Just wanted to say I'm glad you finally managed to book for yourself. ;) :cool1:

Thanks so much everyone for the recommendations. I didn't even know there was a table service option at the campground.
