My DD14 and I will be at WDW the first week in August. We had planned on hopping over to Tchoup Tchop for dinner one night - but instead have decided the money spent on transporation could be better spent at WDW :thumbsup2

We live in Iowa so can get GREAT steak and pork anytime - but Seafood is another story. We want one really great night of Seafood - splurging for us. We have looked at the following menus and we can not decide - Which do fellow Diser's like best and why? Or is there somewhere else on Disney property that has great seafood?

Flying Fish
Blue Zoo
Narcoose's
Fultons

Thanks so much...

We don't have the DP as we are going with the dance studio and HAD to buy the tour package to participate - talk about two foodies bumming. :sad1:

I'll be eating dinner at Flying Fish the second week of March anticipating great seafood so I'll post a review when I return.

I suspect Blue Zoo is the best, but I haven't eaten there yet. Of the remaining three, Flying Fish is the best, just nosing out Narcoossee, which is also excellent. Fulton's is a distant fifth (not fourth).

I like Flying Fish then Narcoosee- very close though. I have not been to Blue Zoo and not a fan of Fultons.(personal taste issues.) But if you are thinking of going off property why not hit Emeril's on City Walk at Universal. That was DELICIOUS and the best service I have ever had(and we eat out often and have done many many nyc restaurants)
ooooh ooooh I forgot my favorite fish item at all of Disney The Macadamia Mahi Mahi at Kona(in the Poly!) Check out that menu.

Flying Fish is tops for me and my family. The potato crusted snapper is fabulous!!! It is served with baked leeks. Very expensive--but worth it.

We have been to all and all are excelent except for Fultons. Was very excited to go here and it was a let down. Not bad, just that you could tell it was not a Disney Rest. Food and service were good, when all the rest were excelent. Have a great time. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :wizard: :wizard:

It's one of the restaurants I've made a deliberate decision not to bring the kids to. It's not so much the service (though they tend to have younger-than-average servers, who do not-as-well with children, IMHO), but rather the dining room itself. We've been there twice when they've place a family with young children in the part of the dining room that looks like a tent, and the cacaphony emminating from there was terrible. Just simply the wrong acoustics for a place to seat young children.

Just subscribing. I'm planning on trying Narcoossee's, Flying Fish, and Blue Zoo this trip, and am interested in what people think.

Thanks for the help...I think we will skip it this time!!!

Any good places for seafood with kids????

Narcoosee isn't bad. Coral Reef is even better, in that regard.

Is Flying Fish kid friendly...for small children???

Have eaten there with mine many times they even give the kids a list of items to find around the restaurant, keeps them busy while the food is being prepared

We didn't care for Blue Zoo much at all. Flying Fish is our first choice with Narcoosees second

I went to Blue Zoo last May with 3 girlfriends as our "splurge" meal. It was wonderful! Great service, interesting menu and food was very good. Lots of seafood and wonderful combinations offered. The decor was modern and beautiful. This is an adult restaurant and I would not bring my children here. Enjoy!!!

OOooppss - just noticed your daughter is 14. That would be fine. It would be an fun experience for her. Also, 2 years ago, my husband and I ate at Tchoup,Tchoup and while the food was good, the service was not. The server was very cool to us after my husband asked if he could get the pasta entree prepared with chicken instead of shrimp.

Whoa! 14? I didn't see that either. That's like almost an adult! I wouldn't have any concerns about taking DD14 to Flying Fish. Forget what I said above -- that was about young children.

If you want good food, then I woulrd really not go to Narcoosees, the seafood is rather just standard seafood, nothing special at all. I would say Blue Zoo first, very fresh and very good quality cooked well, followed by Flying Fish.

We love getting the dungenous crabs at Fulton's Crab House but I would not order any other seafood from this restaurant. Due to the fact that we get great seafood locally we are biased. We only order what we can't get locally.

I concur entirely with Amyrlin and would add only that I prefer the atmosphere at Flying Fish but the food at Blue Zoo. Not that FF food has any real shortcomings, it is just that BlueZoo food is exceptional.

Thanks for all the replies. I am going to print out Flying Fish and BlueZoo menu's to look over with DD, I woudl be happy with either. But I am leaning toward BlueZoo, I think it looks fabulous :goodvibes
