Best SUV????

After researching all the options on all of the car sites, I broke down and test drove a Ford Flex.

Those are really cute! I've liked them since the first one I saw.

They look too big to get good mileage. What is it rated?

Thanks,

Sheila

We bought a year ago a Chevy Traverse and we love it....it was voted by Consumer Reports as one of the top SUVs. I previously owned a Toyota Highlander and I also really loved it.....just at the time we were looking it was being recalled so we hated to buy one with potential problems. Good Luck!:goodvibes

I didn't know Hyundai gives a discount for buying another Hyundai. It might be worth checking into. I also didn't know the Santa Fe has a 3rd row option.

Yes, Hyundai has an owner loyalty program. My DH is a Service Manager at our local Hyundai dealer. He says they are making great cars. They get good gas mileage, are affordable and look good.

I drive a 08 Subaru Tribeca and I love it. It's Subaru, AWD with 3rd row seating. Alot of people don't like the Tribecas, but its a great car. Its loaded with options, is still small enough to be comfortable driving and was affordable.

I love love love my Hyundai Tuscon! I get more compliments on it! It gets great gas mileage for an SUV, it's comfortable and roomy, and it is very affordable. The dealerships in my area can't keep them in stock due to their popularity! Mine had to be located and brought in from another state. Good luck SUV shopping!

A friend of mine has a Santa Fe (Hyundai) and loves it so much she talked her daughter into getting one. I rode in it several times and it was really nice! I forget if it had a third row but the storage in the back was great!

I have a 2010 Ford Explorer that I bought (slightly) used, and I love it! It's a V6 and is very peppy. I traded in a 2008 Honda CR-V that I hated. It was uncomfortable and didn't have enough power to quickly make it up the mountain that I have to cross every day. The only benefit was that it held its resale value, and I made a good profit by trading it in.

Funny thing is, my Explorer doesn't cost any more to keep filled up than the CR-V, probably due to the size of the engine.

Don't buy without at least researching it! The reviews of critics and owners alike are stellar!

It is great, isn't it? I love mine!

Got a 2010 Mercury Mountaineer with a V-8. Thought I would tow a travel trailer with it, but decided not to. It advertised the mileage was better than the V-6 and it is by alittle bit. Found out from the mechanic the better mileage was the result of the 6 speed transmission in the V-8 vs the 4 speed in the v-6.

Can't remember if it is Chrysler, but I think they have/will have an 8 speed transmission.

I loved my Durango. DH didn't want me to get it (it wasn't sporty and totally NOT me!).... then about a year later, he bought one too! We loved them!! Now he has an H2 though and it's really nice but bad on gas mileage!

Love my RAV4.

Ours has the 3rd row seats.. although not a huge amount of space my 6'3" nephew sat back there on occasion when visiting with someone next to him and said he was fine in it (longest drive was only a few hours). It was an important option for us as hubby's family comes over from the UK to visit. Otherwise we might have gone for the Subaru Forrester. I also have two kids (ages 2 and 4) with big bulky Britax carseats.

Has great handling (a comment we keep getting from the mechanics when we take it in for oil changes about Toyota vehicles) and the gas millage is not to bad which was important to us when we bought it.

We bought it new because it was cheaper then buying a used one and having the seats put in or buying one that had the 3rd row seats and we got a great deal on it. Finding a used one with 3rd row seats was almost impossible. If we had to replace it, unless gas millage got better on some of the larger SUVs we would get one again in a heartbeat.
