Best Stroller?

Hi All

We are headed to Disney in September with our three "big kids" and our new baby boy. He will be about 7 months old and since it has been around 7 years since we have done Disney with a stroller (our second youngest is already 9) we are totally out of the loop on the new cool stuff!!

We could really use everyone's advice on the best stroller for a 7 month old. I don't want to take the big boat we use here, but we still need something suitable for an infant. Any input is greatly appreciated.

We love our Maclaren Quest for our DD8mos. Its lightweight and pushes so smoothly and is very compact if you are looking for a smaller type stroller.

I second the Quest. I just got one used and love it. It moves very nicely and has some storage too!

The Zooper Twist. I really like it for my ds. We are leaving tommorrow for our first trip to disney and I researched for about 4 months to find the perfect stroller. the Twist has a larger canopy than the quest, easy to push even for taller people, easy to fold, umbrella fold, compact, reclines, lightweight, holds up to 55 lbs. I had a Graco Quatro tour that I loved but didn't want to lug it to disney. I found the twist to be a great travel stroller with room of a larger stroller but the compact and lightweight of an umbrella type.

I agree with the Mac Quest. I got ours for the trip, but loved it so much we ended up using it all the time. It's light weight, easy to fold, and my DD still likes to ride in it!

We have the Zooper Twist and the Peg Perego Pliko P3. Both have come down to Disney. I have to say though, that despite it being a bit bigger, I liked the Peg better.

It's got a snack tray (Zooper doesn't), you don't have to worry about overloading it and tipping (I was constantly worried about that with the Zooper), it folds nearly as small, has a bigger basket and you can leave more in it when you fold it down, the canopy comes down almost completely and it fully reclines. DS didn't sleep nearly as much in the Zooper as he did the previous trip in the Peg.

I think when we go in December, we're taking the Zooper on the plane but the Peg is going down with my parents in their car for the parks!

We really liked using a Peg P3 for our youngest DD at 3 months and again at 15 months. It was comfy for her with a great sunshade and not too huge and bulky.

We have sold both though and are now bringing a Baby Jogger City Mini as our new Disney stroller. It also has a large shade and is comfy plus it has a super easy one hand fold. Just pull up on the strap on the seat and it folds itself.

We did also own 2 Maclaren Quests but just never used either...actually one never even came out of the box. LOL They are a favorite for Disney though for us, just weren't right.

Thank you to everyone for your stroller picks. I will start my shopping now. They seem a little pricey so I need to find a good deal!! I think I like the Peg Perego. It seems to have a bit more to it for a 7 month old?

I know the feeling! But I just bought a Combi from babies r us and it folds up really small. I will test it out really well this weekend. But babies r us has a coupon for $20 off each stroller of $99 or more. I checked out the maclaren and the combi and I liked the combi the best so I bought 2!

We bought a Peg Perego Pliko P3 for our DD. She will be 8.5 months old when we go in October. I love the recline on the Pliko. After getting some recommendations here on the DIS, we tried the Pliko and Macs out at a baby store and found that the Macs do not have as far back of a recline as the Pliko and the sunshade on the Macs is not as big as the Pliko...both things that are very important to us. We bought our Pliko on albeebaby.com for $180.00. It's a 2007 but really, that doesn't matter. We've used it a couple of times around home and DD loves it and has falled asleep in it too. We've seen some people out and about with their Plikos and asked them how they like them and everyone had nothing but good things to say about it.

ETA - link to the Pliko on albeebaby.com - the absolute least expensive site on the web...trust me, I searched and searched for days to find the best price!

Hopefully you will have better luck with the Combi than I did. It was the absolute worst stroller I ever owned. I had mine a few years back and it was okay when DD was tiny, but when she hit about 2 it wouldnt push worth a darn. The frame was also made of a cheap plastic that sounded like it was buckleing half the time (and DD was on the tiny side for her age). The handle was very low and DH hated to push it because he had to bend over and we constantly kicked the wheels. Maybe they have gotten better since we owned one, but we hated it.

Another vote for the Peg Perego Pliko P3. We love ours. I love the recline, the canopy, the tray, the adjustable handle, everything. The Macs just didn't seam as "coushy" to me. Combi's seemed too flimsy. I also got mine from albeebaby.com. The price was great. We have the Pure vapor one and I love it. I've never seen any stroller like it before.

Another vote for the Mac Quest. We have a 3 yr old and a 10 month old, and both fit great in the stroller. It reclines pretty far and both kids have fallen asleep in it without a kinked neck! I also love the pocket on the back of the hood. It fits a larger wrist wallet, keys, a sippy cup, napkins, chapstick, and still had a little room left. Lots of room in the basket under neat too. Probably won't fit a huge diaper bag, but a smaller one fits fine. Very smooth ride.

Well I own a maclaren techno and while I am not suggesting you run out and buy I really like the mac line all of them I am currently looking at trading in my techno for a volo. On another note I realllyyyyy reallllyyy like the Baby Planet Endangered Species line especially the Snow Leopard Print you can find it on walmarts website.

I had this same problem w/ mine and got rid of it by the my dd was 2 as well.

Really? Hmm..We just used ours today at our zoo. I wanted to try them out and our zoo has SUPER hills. and they were wonderful! Ours are the Cosmo Ex, and they pused very smoothly and the kids loved them. So, I am very pleased. Plus, I still had plenty of room in the trunk with these 2 strollers. I hate my Graco double stroller. That is the hardest stroller on the planet to push in the mall let alone outside.

Maclaren Quest......LOVE LOVE LOVE that stroller! DD starting riding in hers when she was 6 months old. There is NO tray, but she has NEVER had one and never knew any better. She's 3 1/2 now! I do have to say, not having that tray really avoided a lot of messes when she was a baby! :lmao:

I tried the Pliko and Aria strollers and thought they were both too cumbersome, IMHO. MUCH bulkier than Maclarens. I bought the Pliko first and returned it for the Aria. I changed my mind QUICKLY and got the Quest...I am so glad I did. :thumbsup2

It is AMAZINGLY light, folds REALLY compact, has really cool patterns and colors, has a decent sized storage basket, higher handle bars (easier on DH's back) and pushes like a dream. I will be sad when DD grows out of it. LOVE THE MACLAREN QUEST!!!!!!!

best stroller is any kind of jogging stroller!!!! Just make sure it has a basket on the bottom for your stuff. I like the InSTEP Safari series of strollers. We took my children to disney last year (at the ages of 4 and 3 months) and got a double jogging stroller, an InSTEP safari double, and it was wonderful. very easy to manuver and get turned around and I loved it. This year we are going back and the car company that we are using to pick us up from the airport rents them and we rented a double and a single so we wouldn't have to pack ours. I LOVE them. but you NEED that basket on the bottom. Check ebay. There are plenty on there and some good prices too!!!;)

I just spent today traveling into Coquitlam (1hr away) to check out the Maclarens and the Peg Perego's.

I really liked the Pegs over the Mac's. They had more room for the child. Had more features. The hood is bigger. Yes is does weigh more, but I'm not lugging it all over the place. I also found it easier to stear.

The handles on the P3 extend and seemed quite high to me. Also liked that the P3 had the rear footboard for an older child to ride on.

I am all about the Maclaren Techno XLR. It is like a luxury vessel for a toddler. It has the extendable hood for better sun coverage. The Quest I believe is the one step down and is just as awesome! The XLR fit me (4'10) and my husband (6'5). Love it! Best of luck!
