Best strategy for maximizing annual pass/admission tickets?

Ok, so here is my situation....

Are are arriving on 1/6 and would like to visit Epcot on 1/7. I don't think we'll have time to visit other parks, so we only need admission for one day on this trip (2 people). We are staying off property at the Best Western in Downtown Disney. We purchased our DVC in AKV so we can't use our points yet.

We are also visiting for 10 days in June (DH, myself, DD, and our niece). We plan to visit all the parks on this trip. We are staying on points in June.

With our DVC membership, we hope to visit for one week every January. It is still up in the air as to when in January we would visit, but likely between 1/1 and 1/21 when DD returns to school.

So now the fun part! We were given two annual passes to WDW as an incentive to purchase in DVC. The passes become effective when we first use them. I am tempted to use them on our trip to Epcot on the 7th, but then they would expire on the 7th next year, and if we plan our January 2010 trip later, we may have to renew them. If we don't use them next week, we can use them for both our June trip and the January 2010 trip.

But what to do about the one day at Epcot?? Does it make sense to purchase a 10 day no expiration ticket, use one day and then save the other days for our trip in June? Or just pay for the one day and be done with it? What is a good strategy? Thank you!

I'd buy a one day ticket for Jan 7. Then use the APs in June. You would get the June trip and the Jan 2010 trip on that pass. Plus if you add another trip by May 2010, you'd get three trips on one pass.
