Somehow just realized we will be at the parks during the food and wine race day. What do you suggest if we want to avoid the racers, crowds, etc? Anyhting I should know?

The Wine & Dine 1/2 marathon is a night time race so the race should not interfere with your park days. The race takes place in AK, HS and Epcot but after all the parks are closed. That weekend however, it will probably be crowded but not just from the race but from other holidays/school breaks occurring at the same time. The night races at Disney have very little impact on the parks themselves except for an increase in the number of people that will be in the parks. We find that avoiding Epcot on Food & Wine weekends is best in any event as the park is very crowded with locals and can get very rowdy with drunk people all over the place. If you can avoid Epcot on the weekends I would do that.

Thanks! Mst of our time will be in the day but that's also our last weekend, we will be avoiding Epcot on the weekends for sure.

Odds are you won't notice it. The number of racers attending will be dwarfed by the locals, CMs and CPers who show up at Epcot on the weekends. Just pay attention to any signage and message you see about road closures and the like and you should be fine.
