Looks like I'm bored! :hyper:

Post your picks for best and worst store brand spaghetti sauce. I like what I use now but always willing to try something new.

BEST - Classico Four Cheese
WORST - Any variety of Ragu

My favorites are: (1st) Bertolli's 5 Cheese and (2nd) Classico's 4 cheese.

I think Prego is gross. :scared: I don't know what's "in there", but I think it's disgusting. The flavor/taste is just wrong.:scared: :scared:

ITA! Every time I grab it b/c its on an end sale aisle hoping its better, its just as gross as ever!

I too like the Four Cheese!

Trader Joes has some good ones too!

Well, your worst is my best!! :rotfl2:

I LOVE the Ragu with vegetables, the zucchini and carrots, it's my favorite!!

Can't do Prego, DH says I reek when I eat that. I think there is some kind of spice or chemical or something that comes out of my pores.

I liked the one, maybe it was by Bertolli, I'm not sure, but it had sliced green olives. I loved it! But they discontinued it. :(

Best.....Paul Newmans Sockarooni. It has kick!

Best (my preference): Newman's Own

Worst: I don't recall the brand...but their sauce appears brownish....is it Prego? (I thought maybe Ragu but we do like the thicker versions and I do think they are red.)

Emeril's!! We like it :)

Any sauce that is distinctly sweet. That would include Prego.

Best is Classico Four Cheese.
Not sure the worst since all we get is Classico.

Has anyone tried some of the Paul Newman's own brands of pasta sauce? They're not too bad. I like them a lot better than the Prego sauces that are out there. The Ragu sauce with meat in it is pretty bad as well. It has a terrible taste, IMO.

All those jarred sauces have starch and corn syrup etc. Yuck! They all taste terrible to me. The only one I will buy in a pinch is Victoria's. Expensive, but it has no junk in it and tastes the closest to homemade.

In our family, Ragu is rated the "best" and everything else is gagged on.. LOL..

Interesting how different people's tastes can be - huh?

I dont' think Newman's Own organic does...

I don't have that or the regular version on hand to double check though. :confused3

This is my favorite as well. :thumbsup2 I've also found that the cheapo Hunt's canned sauce tastes less sweet (and therefore better) than some of the more expensive brands.

I don't really have a least favorite, because I don't experiment much.

I've never tried his organic sauce. I'll check out the label next time I'm in the store. It's rare that I even buy sauce though. I usually just make my own and freeze it.

We like Emeril's sauces *any of them* and the Classico either 4 cheese or the italian sausage one!

We buy a lot of Classico Four Cheese and also the Tomato Basil. It depends. If I'm crumbling up meat and adding it to the sauce, I go for the four cheese. If I do meatballs, I prefer the Tomato Basil...not sure why!

DH grew up eating Ragu, so I buy it every now and then, but we haven't eaten it in at least a year.

I buy Ragu, but it looks as though I'm gonna have to try the Classico 4 cheese.

I never use jar sauce for a family meal (I'm italian and mama would roll over in her grave;) ) but I do keep some on hand when I'm in a pinch or when DS16 wants it for lunch. Favorite: Barilla (mushroom and garlic or roasted garlic). Least favorite: anything else.
