Best Steakhouse? Yachtsman vs. Le Cellier

If you are looking for one dining credit. I would choose Kona cafe over Le Cellier. My steak there was MUCH better than the one at Le Cellier. Just saying...:goodvibes

And this is why everyone should take all dining reviews with a grain of salt. I love a good piece of steak. So, when eating at Kona, the past two times, I ordered their steak. And it was okay the first time (but, just okay) and barely edible the last time. I don't want to go back there simply because of my last experience. But, many others love it there. Just goes to show that one person may hate a meal, while someone else may rave about the exact same thing. Too funny.

But, as far as good steaks at WDW....Shula's is supposed to be wonderful. We have friends that have their steak dinners there and nowhere else at WDW. They are huge Morton's fans as well..to give you an idea of their tastes. But, Yachtsman is very nice as well...looking forward to eating there in Dec. Also, I ate at Flying Fish for the first time in August. I had one of the best pieces of beef in recent memory there. It was absolutely to die for. Going back there again in Dec as well.
I love LeCellier, I really do. But, I just can't get all excited about it anymore. It's just too much hype now. It isn't worth the time and effort to get an ADR there anymore. Too many other places to try.

DD & I would both have to say that Yachtsman is one of our favorite places to eat at Disney - and it is DEFINITELY a "must do" for us! And the creme brulee at Yachtsman is so, so good!!!!!

We do love LeCellier too - and its a "must do" for us too - we usually do lunch there though. Love the soup! DD loves the Smores dessert!

Have a great trip!

What is the best steakhouse in Disney? Yachtsman Steakhouse or Le Cellier in Canada? And why?

Not even close. Le Cellier is the most over hyped, overrated restaurant in the park IMO. It was not bad, pretty much an outback quality. I went twice because I kept hearing about how people were killing themselves for ADR's there and I figured the first time must have been a fluke. The best part of the meal was the soup and sorry I don't go to steak houses for the soup. Steak was absolutely tasteless.

Actually if you want an excellent steak the best place is Shula's but I don't know if they take the dining plan. Blows Le Cellier out the water.

We're steak eaters; especially DH. DH likes LeCellier for the atmosphere but says the steak is average. We ate at Yachtsman recently and both DH and I kept commenting on how amazing our steaks were! I would choose Yachtman over LeCellier anyday.

In terms of steak quality and taste, Yachtsman wins hands down. I also find the service considerably better at Yachtsman.

The steak at Yachtsman is a different quality than LeCellier. Can't really compare the two, IMO.

The best steak in WDW is Shula's.

I totally agree on all parts. Comparing Yachtsman to Le Cellier is like comparing burgers at a Red Robin (or a Fuddruckers) to McDonalds. Totally different quality.

We've been to LeCellier several times and tried Yachtsman a few weeeks ago. We loved everything about Yachtsman except the steaks. :confused3 The bread was delicious, the side dishes (especially the mashed potatoes)were wonderful, the desserts were to die for. The service was great. But we just didn't care for the steaks. DH got the Ribeye and DD and I got the filet. They were all kind of tough with not much flavor. :sad2:We were so looking forward to this meal and just were not impressed.

Later in the week we ate at Kona Cafe and the steaks we had there were much better. :goodvibes

We always enjoyed LeCellier too, so I would vote for Le Cellier over Yachtsman based on our experience.

The Yachtsman definitely. It is never crowded or cramped like Le Cellier, the food (and the options of food) are much better and you aren't rushed through your meal. Its quieter. Plus, its right at the YC so you can still do it fairly easily on your Epcot day.

I just posted here about Kona! We had Yachtsman and Kona in September and felt Kona's steaks were way better.

But I'm reading here about how everyone loved the steaks at Yachtsman and ours were just not good. And we are not especially picky and DH always orders steaks so he definitely knows steaks, but we found both cuts we ordered (ribeye and 2 filets)to be tough and flavorless. Maybe it was an off night?:confused3

My family would vote Yachtsman. We love the steak there. The service has been great too!

Le Cellier is nice too, but we would vote this as second.

Out of the two you listed, Yachtsman is definitely better! We ate there the other night and really enjoyed our meal. I agree with the pp that said Le Cellier is more of an Outback quality.

I also agree with those that Shula's is the best steak we have had on property.

Yatchtman's Steakhouse has better quality aged, marbled beef, definitively better atmosphere. Le Cellier has it's place too but often it's very loud and crowded and they herd you in and out likte cattle. At Le Cellier, it's not dining. I don't consider getting my appetizer, soup and dinner all at the same time, dining. At least at the Yachtman, you can have a meal, conversation (be heard) and your meal doesn't all run together.

Le Cellier was much better in previous years.

You are kind of asking, what is better Morton's or Outback. Le Cellier and Yatchtsman are not in the same ballpark. I like Le Cellier, and have had good meals there, but it is not a real steakhouse. Yatchtsman is the real deal.

Another vote for Yachtsman. The quality and the atmosphere are far superior to Le Cellier.
Le Cellier is popular because it is the best steak for 1TS in the parks.

(I assume you are on the DDP - If not then go to Shula's)

Shula's > Yachtsman > Le Cellier

Mercedes > Audi > Chevy

I would ponder that Le Cellier's popularity is a function of the DDP and Free Dining. Those two plans will ultimately lead to its demise.

It's become too crowded, too noisy, and the food is barely mediocre.

We've eaten at all of them, several times:

Shula's is the absolute best :thumbsup2

But between The Yachtsman & Le Cellier.....The Yachtsman wins, hands down.
