Hi All
Can anybody give me their opinion of the best steak on property?
Thanks

Best filet - BlueZoo

Runner up - Jiko

Best NY Strip - Flying Fish

I eat Filet where every they have it at and the best one I just had this trip was France. It was 10x's better than LC this trip.
Also Citricos & Cali Grill r very good to.

San Angel Inn.

I know... I know... I don't believe it either.... But it was the best meal I had including LC, all week. Very tasty... and tender.

Shula's
Yatchsman

In that order.

The Porterhouse at Shula's is heaven on a plate. Don't try to eat the whole thing though, it may kill you, that was the biggest steak I have ever seen.

Steak Overall:

Shula's
Yachtsman

Steak Specific:

Filet at BlueZoo

Strip at FF and buffalo at AP are great - had them about a month ago.

I just wanted to add you can split a plate at Shula's for an additional charge, I think it is $15, not sure.

1. Shula's
2. Yachtsman Steakhouse

Shula's does generally charge a $15 fee for splitting a plate, but we've never been charged it. We always order appetizers, desserts and a nice bottle of wine. They don't seem to care that we split the red meat!

We also once had an amazing New York Strip steak at Tony's Town Square, but that was a one-shot wonder. It never happened again. I think they ran out of steaks and brought in some spare prime steaks from CG or something!

I find Jiko's filet pretty average, and not the best thing on the menu by any means. And, I've never understood how putting it on a bed of mac & cheese makes it exotic. Seems to me to make it the height of American cuisine. Nothing African or exotic about it.

The last time I had steak at Chefs de France was during a free dining promotion about three years ago (we were not on free dining but the menu had been adjusted for all customers during free dining). The filet had been removed from the the menu and in its place was steak frites (a classic bistro dish with skirt steak and fries, which I always enjoy). What came out of the kitchen was wholly unrecognizable as beef, let alone a steak. Don't know what it was, but it was not good and I didn't eat it.

I also did not care for the bison steak at Artist Point, which I recently tried for the first time. Rather gamey I thought. IMO, it cannot touch a grain-fed, dry-aged beef steak.

Steaks we've had ranked:

Shula's
Jiko
Flying Fish
California Grill
Artist's Point
Teppan Edo
Le Cellier 2002
Narcoosees
Kona
Le Cellier 2008

It's always amazing to see the difference of opinion on the DIS.
We would put Cali Grill at the top, Jiko somewhere in the middle, and Yatchsman at the bottom - we were disappointed in Yachtsman as we had a party of 7 and were taking a steak lover for business - my friend and I (the two guys who were paying) thought it was ok but agreed we would never go back. I seem to remember we had the porterhouse (perhaps a special), but it may have been the strip.
