I am looking for the best steak in the world. I just want a plain steak, not one with sauces and other things smothered all over it. We already have ADR for the Yachtsman. Is this the best choice for 2ts credits or is Captain's Grille just as good? What do all the real steak lovers think?

There is no comparison, Yachtsman Steakhouse is a million times better then Captain's Grill. I had the one of the worst, if not THE worst, steaks of my life at Captain's Grill. The best steak I had at Disney was Shula's which is not on the dining plan and I really enjoyed the steak I had at Coral Reef for a one credit meal.

well - the BEST filet I've EVER had was at Le Cellier but that included the Mushrooms and you've stated a "PLAIN STEAK"....

So If I were you.. I'd check out Shula's... OR perhaps try Le Cellier but tell them NOTHING on your steak .....

Have a magical visit !

Mary

Literally, the best steak in the world is at the Flying Fish. Absolutely delicious

So far Le Cellier, It was one of the best steaks I have ever had if not the best! I have heard great things about Yachtsmen and we will be trying it out in 2 weeks! Have fun!

My dad and brother are major meat eaters, and their ranking would be:
Shula's
Yachtsman
Le Cellier

Now, that said, they really really like Le Cellier.

I agree with everone who said that Le Cellier offers a very good steak. On my next trip, I want to try the Yachtsman from all of these great reviews.

Yachtsman was the best Disney property steak we have had. LeCellier is good, but the chance of getting a res is slim. And Yachtsman is definitely more upscale than LeCellier.

Shula's at SD is very good, too.

IMHO best steaks are

1. Shula's
2. Yachtsman
3. Jiko, California Grill Narcoosee's etc

Two of our favorites are Yachtsman Steakhouse and Artist Point......awesome filet at both :thumbsup2.

I would have to say the best steak in WDW is Shula's followed by Yachtsman, Narcoossee's, and California Grill. From there, unlike a pp who hated it, I completely enjoyed and was surprised by how good my steak was at Captains Grill.

Also, unlike a few on here, I was not impressed at all with Le'Cellier. It was one of the most over-rated and over-hyped dining experiences of my life anywhere. I have enjoyed better steaks at Coral Reef and Whispering Canyon Cafe more than Le'Cellier.

Now that it has gone signature, and much more expensive, that has changed. It appears from many on the DIS that have called Le'Cellier, getting a dinner reservation has become rather easy to get, at least for the present time that is.

I love the Char Crusted New York Strip at The Flying Fish Cafe. It is so delicious! Just ask for the sauce on the side, that's what I do. I barely use any of it either, because the steak is just so good, that you don't need it.

I also loved the Ribeye at The Yachtsman. We are going back there on our next trip, and I plan on ordering that again!

The steak at Le Cellier is awesome [especially with the truffle risotto].. however, we hear Shula's is amazing as well if you want to break out the big bucks.

No question-Shula's has the best steak at WDW.
However, if you are constrained by the DDP, then Yachtsman is next best..

I guess it depends on a few things:

- if cost is not an option then the Kobe Beef at Victoria & Alberts is very, very good...but we can't all do that every trip.
- for a basic filet I would say Shula's or Yachtsmen Steakhouse which are very good.
- if you are going for overall taste then I say hands down the best steak on propert is the Char-crusted NY strip at Flying Fish. The taste is absolutely AMAZING. We now make it a point to go every, and I mean every trip we take, which is usually once or twice a year. Love it!!!

Kona's in the Poly (1 TS) was best of our 58 trips to WDW. we used to go to Yachstman (2 TS) and got bad steaks two times so changed. Captains Grille (1 TS) is OK but nothing compared to Kona's and I just ordered the steak as is:thumbsup2 but my sister and brother in law wanted all on the side and nothing on the steak. was not a problem.:thumbsup2 but we went back again and they both had the sauce put on--it was that good.:yay: Le Cellier is good as well and for dinner has went to 2 TS lunch still 1 TS
:dance3:
