Best standard view poly building

Hi! We are staying at the Poly in March and have a standard view room. I do want a balcony. What is the best request to make in terms of building/location. I looked at the map and having never stayed there it is a little confusing. TIA!

Probably your best bet would be just to request "third floor with balcony".

Imo the best longhouse for Standard View is Rarotonga. It’s very centrally located, right next to the Great Ceremonial House, so you are just steps away from refilling your mug, dining and shopping, and the monorail platform. It’s close to both pools. It’s also right next to the bus stop if you go out the back way, as well as the walking path to the TTC for direct Epcot monorail service. Standard View in that building faces the parking lot but the landscaping is so good you can hardly tell, and you’ll be able to watch the monorail pass by on your balcony. We stayed in room 3816 there a couple of years ago and it worked out well. Just request Rarotonga with a balcony. We did ours through the Touring Plans room request service though.

We think Rarotonga is definitely the best Standard View longhouse.

Another vote for Raotonga.
Just be careful, if a balcony is important, I wouldn't request a building at all or make it clear that balcony is #1 and building a distant 2nd.

We also like Rarotonga for all of the reasons mentioned here, but if third floor balcony is priority, I would not request a specific longhouse.

I completely agree with the previous posters. If a balcony is really important, that would be my only request to boost my chances. The Poly is very popular and usually booked close to capacity. If you request both a particular longhouse and a balcony, you may very well end up in the longhouse requested, but without a balcony. The west side of the longhouse, Fiji, is allotted for standard rooms. The views from these rooms are really beautiful. They face a quiet beach and the Grand Floridian. For convenience, go with Rarotonga.
