Please help! We are going down to WDW in August and are a family of 5. We booked a standard room at the Yacht Club and I would like to put in a room request location but I need some help! Can you tell me your experience with the best standard rooms at the Yacht club and what I should request? Thank you!!

I think it depends on what you're looking for.

We stayed at the Beach Club last August. I requested a room closest to Epcot, and that's what I got... a room pretty much right above the "back door." Of course, that meant we were pretty far from both SAB and the lobby, but it sure was nice late at night when we were all tired; we were just steps away from Epcot.

Next year, when we return, I'm thinking of leaving it in the hands of the booking gods and seeing what we get. I'll only request a full balcony; that's important to me.

But what's important to you? Quiet? Being close to SAB? Closer to DHS? Close to the lobby?

Yes, Definitely closer to Epcot is a great thing. I just don't want to be looking at the roof of a building and that's what I'm afraid we will get if I don't make any specific requests. Does anyone know if any of the rooms have a theme park view for the fireworks? Thanks for all your help!

I've only stayed at the Beach Club, and only once so far. What we did was pay an extra $10 per night for "Garden View" instead of standard.

Our view was lots of trees, with a bit of a view of some of the Epcot buildings. We were able to see bits and pieces of the fireworks.

Someone there is sure to have the right advice!

We only stayed at YC once. The halls really seem LONG! We had a room near the elevator which was convenient. To walk to the quiet pool took forever but we were quick to lobby. The quite pool is on end towards Swan/Dolphin. So if want to be on that end? Near lobby? Our view was over the gazebo. I liked it but dh didn't like that our view was of people right across from us.

Luckily YC has almost all balconies so that is great. We enjoyed the room but smaller than monorail hotels. Ds slept on twin bed and he 5'11". Also, The hot tub near the shallow end with sand for toddlers was always full of kids. I didn't know there was another one in SAB, it is closer to BC side. Also at night we tried the quiet pool hot tub and was HUGE and empty:thumbsup2

We paid the extra $10 a night for a garden view at BC and had a great view of the lake/pool and trees. It was lovely. If you are worried about the view, pay for the one you want. My BFF stays at BC yearly, standard view and was shocked at the view my family had... She asked how we got it b/c she is always looking at the parking lot...for us the extra $ is worth it!
