If we (me, dh dd6 &ds4) were to only go to one stage show (besides play house disney) which one do you think that we should not miss?
"Festival of the Lion King" at Animal Kingdom is SPECTACULAR for all ages.
Its in an indoor air conditioned theater with great sound and lighting.
The show itself is a wonderful variety with magnificent singing, acrobatics, comedy, amazing animal "puppets" and... well, its the best!
"Beauty and the Beast On Stage" at MGM is good, too.
Lots of great singing and dancing and over-sized characters (Beast, Mrs. Potts, Chip, Cogsworth, Lumiere).
The "Be Our Guest" number is a "must-see."
"Voyage of the Little Mermaid" (MGM) is very exciting and fun for most guests. Ariel is "live on-stage" and has a beautiful singing voice.
Most of the rest of the cast are amazing puppets.
Even "Flights of Wonder" (Animal Kingdom, again) is very good, too.
Lots of live birds performing "natural behavior" (not bicycle-riding) and an upbeat and funny "human" cast as well.
Oddly enough, the show you mentioned (Playhouse Disney) is pleasant enough for VERY young children, but it does not even belong in the same category as the other amazing stage shows at WDW. If I were going to miss one show because of time-limits, I'd choose to pass up Playhouse Disney. It will not be NEARLY as memorable as the others I mentioned (even Flights of Wonder)...
But do try to see as many as you can.
