Best "Splurge" Restaurant?

Hopefully CG will be open for you (I'm hoping its open for me at the end of September! ;)) but in case it's not, I would recommend Flying Fish or Jiko. I have not been to V&A, but I would imagine that this would be right up there as a first choice, but it will also be most expensive.

Bluezoo, Jiko, and Il Mulino, all have wonderful food, excellent wines and cocktails!

Hi! First time posting on the DISboards! I have been a long time reader though! :thumbsup2

My family and I (total of six people) are going to be taking a trip to Disney and Universal in late October. We have been to Disney before and we always do the dining plan, BUT it has been awhile.

This time we are not staying on property, therefore not doing the dining plan. So we are planning on doing one "pricey" restaurant while we are there. We planned on California Grill as it is our favorite, but it looks like it will be closed. :confused3

So my question is, what is the best more expensive restaurant you would recommend for our trip?

Definitely JIKO for us!

With CG not being open yet (as far as we know at this moment) I would say Artists Point in WL , Flying Fish at Boardwalk or Jiko in AKL.

I would vote for Victoria & Albert's. We went on our honeymoon, then again on our 10-year anniversary, and have it booked for my 50th birthday trip in November. One thing I love is that they call you and talk to you about favorites. My husband is super picky, and they really do work to create a meal that works for the party.

I also recommend the wine pairing - you get substantial pours with almost every course.

My vote would be for Jikko but Artist Pt and Le Cellier were good as well.

My favorite splurge is by far Fulton's Crab House! I'm from MD so my entire family is into seafood and we know good seafood when we have it--and Fulton's is definitely good!

For a group, I'd lean toward Flying Fish. I have eaten there with a party of six, in addition to date night and family dinners, and it was consistently fantastic.

I like Jiko more for romantic dinners for two, but the food and wine there are both excellent.

Wow! Thanks everyone for all the great suggestions!

We decided on Artist Point and have made our reservations! Still hoping California Grill will open up in time! Because that is the place we REALLY wanted to eat!
