Where are the best souvenir shops at both DL and DCA?

Everywhere! LOL!

It just depends what you want. We found the Emporium large gift shop on the left corner of Main Street amazing. Tons of things from Photo albums, keychains, kids toys, clothes, etc.

There was also one called Off The Page in California Adventure that I loved for film cels, a gorgeous shadowbox, figurines, and more adult souvenirs.

But then, there was the one in CA that I bought the Tower of Terror movie that had CA stuff. Don't remember that one's name/ It's on the parade route.

Really, every shop has something fun, but most items are carried at more than one place.

When I saw how many views the thread was getting and no comments, that was kinda the impression I was getting. Somehow I don't think there will be a lack of opportunities to spend $$$.

Just looking for little trinkets, I guess. Nothing really expensive or fancy. And PRINCESS STUFF!!!

LOL! Hold tight to your wallet, because yep, it will empty at an alarming rate if you let it.

Last time, we didn't buy too much until the last day, unless my dd and I knew we were nuts for it. That meant less carrying around for us, and that we knew that last day what we wanted to grab, and where it was. My daughter loved PFF, and that's where she found her beloved autograph book and fuzzy feather pen that still works, almost two years later! (Now, that pen is WORTH 4.99!)

World of Disney (DTD) is just awesome - I could spend hours in there!

The shops that I seem to always find really cute or interesting things in (whether I bought them or not) are:

China Closet on Main Street in DL
Disneyana on Main Street
Disneyland Gallery on Main Street
Fortuosity on Main Street
Market House on Main Street
Pieces of Eight in NOS
Le Bat en Rouge in NOS
Gag Factory (in ToonTown)
Off the Page in DCA
Engine Ears in DCA
Fantasia shop in the DLH

The Emporium on Main Street and World of Disney are good shops for lots and lots of things, as is the Star Traders or whatever it's called in Tomorrowland, but those are all larger and more obvious choices. In fact, I think a lot of people heard straight to the Emporium and they skip Disneyana or the China Closet, which are little gems.

World of Disney is enormous - so if you go in there with your whole group, make sure to keep an eye on everyone because it's easy to lose people in that store! Or if you split up, arrange a place to meet up again. I lost a friend inside that store, simply because one of us turned to look at one thing and the other one walked a few steps and suddenly we couldn't find each other! It's a huge store.

Downtown Disney has shops like Anne Geddes, Sephora and Basin. Basin sometimes sells little Mickey-shaped soaps or other Disney products. And, of course, there is Build-a-Bear, which is great for kids. Rainforest Cafe actually has a little shop with some really cute things as well.

Oh, I forgot to add this. I was just telling someone about this over in our Disney at Christmas thread and it dawned on me that I neglected to mention it here...

In addition to the bears or other animals you can make at Build-A-Bear (and they sell some Disney-themed outifts and accessories there, like Princess stuff and Mickey stuff, etc.), if you think your kids would like this, at Engine Ears in DCA they sell Mr. Potato Head with Disney-themed Potato pieces. They sell things like Dumbo ears, a sorcerer's hat, a camera, mouse ears, a Mickey ice cream bar - just all kinds of cute things in bins. And the best part is that you only pay something like $18 (the price may have gone up; not sure) to cram as many of those Potato pieces into a box as you can fit. The accessories are very cute, and it's a very cool Disney park-exclusive type of souvenir to have, I think.

Also, in your PPH room you will have the festive Mickey ears bath products, which are a big hit with kids and adults (and quite sought after on the DIS). The housekeeping staff will leave more of them every day so you can develop quite a stash, but they are adorable.

I like World of Disney in Downtown Disney and Emporium on Main Street, both are really big stores where you can find pretty much everything!

I especially like Engine Ears Toys or as Sherry and many people calls it Enginears or Engineers in DCA. It is just on the right when the enrance street spreads out. More specifcally in the end of the train.

I like that the thing in it are less souvenirish. Things like puzzles and games that will be use more than once and have disney themes.

I hope when this area is rethemed that the idea of the store is retained.

Actually, I think I only picked up the habit of calling it Enginears when I saw other people referring to it as that on this board and other boards (I guess, because it's similar to DelivEARS)! Before that, I never had to type it out for any reason! But I like that shop - not only for the exclusive Disney park Potato Head pieces, but because it is very bright and colorful. It certainly has one of the better shop signs on the facade. It's eye-catching. I wondered what would happen to it when the remodeling/re-theming takes place.

Every Single year I check out the majority of the stores in DCA/DL and the only stores I ever purchase anything in is...

- Disney store in DTD
- The Indiana Jones store in Adventureland
- Pooh's Store in Critter Country
- The Emporium on Main Street

I didn't know until I went in the store. I heard you can enter through the train and I figured it was Engineers. It wasn't until I looked at the big sign over the main entrance that I saw it was three words long.

I don't know what it'll become but hopefully the park retains a toy store in one form or another. I also like the big bright inside.
