Best Snacks for Disney Dining Plan

We usually do the deluxe dining plan and usually have no use (or room in our stomachs!) for snack credits and end up bringing home 40+ snacks.

Our favorites are fudge because there's a million flavors and it's nice slices and they last awhile after you get home and transport well.

The cinnamon rolls at the Main Street bakery in MK are also delish and they're HUGE. More than ample for a breakfast.

As an aside, I really cringe when I read posts about people trying to maximize the dining plan. It really takes a lot of the fun out of it (ordering the most expensive item on the menu versus something new or something you have a taste for) and can actually become quite miserable. While ordering a $4 snack to "maximize" the plan may make you smile and make it more fun when you're crunching the savings when you get home, you may very well get more satisfaction from a $2 popsicle on a hot day. Last year, I forbid anyone in our family from using snack credits for drinks because I thought they were wasteful (especially when we had drinks at every meal and refillable mugs) and it made me miserable, it made the family miserable and it left us with 48 snack credits the day before we left (and it took us two hours in Goofy's on the day before we left to spend them all).

Order what you want. Enjoy the dining experience. You'll more than likely come out ahead, anyways :)

I'm always amazed at how nasty and glib people can be on this site, it's truly sad.
Incase there wasn't anyone in your life that told you this....ATTENTION ALL UNHAPPY PEOPLE ON DIS! If you don't have something nice to say then....SHOOSH!
For the nice young man who asked the question....there is a thread that I have for all (all that's known any way)the different parks and the snacks that are available there. I can't figure out how to post a thread within the thread so I'll just type in the address for you.

I KNOW this will make you look like you know your stuff, especially if you know someone in your group is looking for that special treat. :)

See how easy that was unhappy Dis people? It really doesn't take that much to be nice. :cutie:

I can totally understand what this person is asking. I stumbled upon this thread doing a google search.

For me, the best snack options are the larger portions or ones that hold you over longer until your next meal. My DH needs 3 full meals/day plus snacks (and no, he is not overweight). I'm in search of the stick to your ribs snacks, which tend to be real food vs. fudge/candy.

From my research so far, but haven't tried:

eggrolls at the eggroll wagon in MK
side of chili at Casey's in MK
bagels that you can get at most CS in your hotel
ham & cheese croissant at Epcot--France
Noway sweet pretzel
ice cream cookie sandwich at main st. bakery in MK (seriously, saw a picture of it & it's HUGE).

If anyone else has tummy-filling snacks that can hold you over between meals, let me know.

My kids loved having the chili and cheese fries....from Pop, ASSP and Pecos Bills....they just love it!

I am happy to see someone post that they are still available as a snack as we had to push the issue (nicely) twice last trip where the cashier did not realize it could be a snack.

I completely understand the advice to just use your credits for what you want, but some people find it fun to figure out how they can "maximize" the credits. My DH killed quite some time researching the most lavish ways to use a snack credit and we enjoyed many of his finds, but I also was free to use my credits on impulse buys-- you can have a balance of both. I'm not even going back right now and love to read about the cool snacks you can get!

So sad to hear make-your-own at Goofy's Candy Co is gone, though. I never got to do that!

at the resorts and gift shops -- especially when you have extra snacks on DDP for the last day... makes great little token "teacher gifts" since they're a novelty item. Packs easily and is easy on your pocketbook.
Since DD is in middle school the teacher's don't usually get gifts (5 subject ones). She gave each one a different candy box and she heard they had a "candy buffet" at lunch time and compared the sayings on the boxes. Made us feel good that they enjoyed the gift and it was ea$y. We had so many snacks left over that it worked out very well $$ wise.

I could live in the French bakery :goodvibes You can have a full meal using just snack credits - but who am I kidding I just go for the baked goods ;)

Last time we went to WDW we had some snack credits left over so we just stopped by the Pop store on our way out the resort and got some treats for the trip home - it was Halloween time so they had tons of cool candy to choose from.

We usually use our snack credits for breakfast (bagel, danish, yogurt, etc). Pop has a decent bakery assortment. If my girl want mickey waffles and the like for breakfast, I give them my counter service for that day and I'll use a snack credit for a side salad for lunch.

Being that we normally use the snack credit for breakfast or a light lunch, we will pay oop for the occasional ice cream/icees.

I thought you could still make your own marshmallow thing at Goofy's, but not the other stuff.
