Best site you have found for booking hotel only.

Hi

I wonder if I can pick your brains!!!!

We have booked 7 nights at BC and looking to do 3 nights elsewhere, possibly Universal, to make up our 10 nights.

I am looking around for best prices, but a lot of sites seem to be cropping up, some of which look a bit 'dodgy'!!!

Do you have any recommendations of hotel sites, any experiences that could be useful and also of Universal hotels, which one did you prefer?

Two adults and an 8 year old travelling over half term.

don't forget to check and go through quidco for cashback, my cashback for various hotel bookings came to £175 for our last trip!

Universal hotels are usually best booked direct, often the cheapest prices but if they do release lower prices you can get the rate changed on your booking with no fee.
Offsite then UK agents often cheaper. When you have settled on dates & hotel post the best price you can find then we can let you know if we see cheaper.

We've had some absolutely stonking deals through Otel.com over the past few years. Additional discounts are available through their Facebook page and cashback via Quidco (although I don't think you can use both together). Each time you use them, you build up (worthwhile) credits towards future stays. I can't guarantee they couldn't go belly-up at a moment's notice, though. They're part of MetGlobal based in Istanbul, whoever they are.

I meant to add that Trivago is fairly good as far as comparison sites are concerned. I think I came across Otel.com via Tripsta.

I wasn't sure about Otel, I haven't heard of them or anyone who had used them and that worries me a little, you hear of these budget companies going bust all the time!

My dates are 28th to 31st October this year and I would like to have the park access thing and Queue Buster, I notice that some budget sites, this isn't an option on the cheaper room. I think we prefer Hard Rock Hotel, but to be honest, anyone would do for the best deal.

Best price so far, is Last Minute £532.44 for the three days 2 adults and a child 8yrs. Hard Rock direct is around £550 with the current exchange rate.

Any advances?

I am getting a rate of $877.86 @ $1.62 = £542

Have you bought your Universal tickets yet?
If 1 of you bought an Annual pass you can get a rate of $604.14 or £373 for those dates.

An AP would cost $279.04 or £172.25

£151 saving on hotel would almost pay for AP and you get free parking, discounts for food, drinks and merchandise.

We definately are going to have a car by that stage (prob. 4 days into the 7 night Disney stay) and the free parking alone will account for the difference in AP and accommodation.

Can I just ask, if you know, if we buy the pass on line and print it out at home to present at the resort, can I still book the hotel with the discount? Will I have to ring them, only I can't see anything on the hotel booking to put AP information.

Unless things have changed since I last booked, you just need to input APH into the discount code field when you request the online quote. You don't need to have purchased the pass when you book; you just need to have it at check-in (and, even then - in 8 stays - I've never been asked for evidence).

You can book online using promotion code APH (stands for Annual Pass Holder) you don't need your AP til you check in, often they don't even ask for it but you need to show if they ask.

Try looking at Complete Orlando.

They have the cheapest prices by far for the Universal hotels - for example, 4 nights for me at RPR next year is £651 compared to Universals £738. It might be because of the number of nights I am looking to stay (discounts don't get applied to longer stays which have a separate special rate).

I have yet to find a hotel cheaper elsewhere for the other hotels I have been looking at too, including the Disney hotels (even if you include the cashback and Quidco).

i'm planning on checking the online sites at the last minute for the end of october in new york.

i'll be in the states for 6 weeks....during that time, i have to take my mom to see her ophthalmologist in new york...we'll fly in on tuesday and out on wednesday...
so i've tentatively booked a room, but of course, it's beastly expensive..
so at the last minute, i'll check online..

i also bought us tickets to book of mormon for that night, so i need to be within walking distance of that theater....

since i have a hotel, it's not critical, but i sure would like to pay something less than $400/night for a 3 star hotel (what i currently have reserved)...

We used them earlier this year but never found a better deal so no need to cancel

For our next trip, we used Alpharooms and got a better deal on the same hotel as our 2012 trip

I used hotelopia earlier this year and had to cancel, no problems at all. Paid by pay pal and money from what I recall was pretty much returned instantly!

Hotels.com & Expedia are same company and I have found them very expensive last few years but I am looking for a night at the Miami Airport Hotel next April(1st) and Hotels.com is coming out the cheapest just now, with 10% code and Topcashback 12.12% it is £74/nt. Alpharooms £115.99
I prefer Quidco to TCB but they are not showing the 10% code as valid and only offering 8% back.
