Does anyone know of a good well known site to sell a timeshare (non-Disney)? My inlaws are nearing retirement and would like to unload 2 of their timeshares as they do not want to continue paying the dues on them. I looked into ebay, but it doesn't seem like the best choice.

Is there a for-sale section at www.tug2.com? That's where I'd start. You're going to need a title company to complete the transfer. Most timeshares are difficult to give away, let alone sell. Ebay may be your best option if they really want to get rid of them.

Thanks! I just posted on Tug. They are just giving them away.

We sold ours with Tom Tubbs on www.timesharestogo.com. It took a good 6+ months. Maybe longer. We got $1500 for it in 2012 which was equal to the commission amount so we broke even. We bought 2nd hand for only $3k and got plenty of use of it for 6 yrs so no regrets.
Good luck!

OP, I take you or other family members aren't willing or want to take over either of the timeshares?

It may be possible to 'sell' it back to the Timeshare group he bought them from at a loss, but it's an option.

My FIL has two timeshares as well. He's still paying dues on them, but no longer travels. He gives his kids the points to use, but most of the time we are all scrammbling to find a way to use them. It's tough.

What kind of timeshares are they? It's a big difference if they are Marriott vs. Wyndham, KWIM? I'd go over to TUG2 and maybe do a little research. Some timeshares like Marriott have some resale value, but some you are lucky to give away.

That said, if they are good traders, are you sure you wouldn't want to take them over? We trade one in particular through Interval that is just an insanely good trader...we get 3 weeks at the nicest Marriott you can imagine out of that 1 trade week every year. I learned how to trade on TUG2.
