I never liked Seinfeld. I just never really understood what the big deal was about that show.
My personal favorite sitcom is FRIENDS. I love that show and I even own the 8 seasons that are now out on DVD...I could watch them all the time and never get tired of them.
Becka, I am glad you said that. DH and I have never like Seinfeld either and don't see what all the fuss is about.
I don't know that I have a favorite. I like Andy Griffith and I Love Lucy. I also like The Golden Girls (man, that can get dirty! LOL!), Friends, Cosby Show and Family Ties. One of my favorites out now is According to Jim. Love that!!
My candidates are:
Barney Miller
Night Court
The Mary Tyler Moore Sow
The Dick Van **** show
The Bob Newhart Show.
And the winner is (Drumroll please)........
The Dick Van **** Show!
The MTM show comes in a very close second.
Edited to add: Poor Dick, his last name can't get past the auto censor.
Its D!ke (replace the ! with a y). The auto censor apparentlky thinks this means Dick VanRudeWordForLesbian.
Absolutely, Seinfeld!! After that, Everybody Loves Raymond, Will & Grace and I saw one other poster mention this one...Perfect Strangers! Oh and I just thought of another one, The Monkees!
I Love Lucy. Absolutely #1. It'll still be funny 100 years from now.
I enjoyed Seinfeld when it was on-- I just really don't like it now. I don't know why... maybe I don't find it funny upon repeated viewing?? But I certainly appreciate it for it was.
I don't watch any reruns usually, not movies a second time, not shows a second time, even years later..there are 3 exceptions-and those are what I'd pick for best 3 sitcoms, because for me, they are the only shows that never get old:
Golden Girls(my absolute favorite!)
Seinfeld
and
That 70s Show
