Hi,

We are going in 3 weeks to DL for 6 days and would like to do 1 sit-down meal a day. We go every year to WDW but haven't been to DL in about 6 or so years. I don't really know anything about where to eat and wanted to know where are the best or funnest or coolest places to go. So suggest away!

Blue Bayou
Goofy's Kitchen
New Orleans Cafe
Steakhouse 55

Is mainly where we eat if we have the $$. Goofy's has many characters, I like BB waterside for the atmosphere.

It depends on what "best" means to you.

I think the Blue Bayou is the best sit down restaurant in Disneyland due to the atmosphere and unique-ness of it. However, it is not the best food and not the best if characters are important to you during your meal (there are none). To me, it's very cool.

A very casual place, but just amazing food (dare I say, even for non-Park food), is Rancho del Zocalo. It's sort of "buffeteria" style, but they have different lines for different food items so it moves very quickly. The mexican food is really good! You can eat outside on the mexican-ish patio. (nice) Out front in the midst of Frontierland. (good for people watching) OR..... ask them for a to-go box, pack it up and take it with you. Good food, good atmosphere, good place.

Those are my top 2 favorites IN the park. If you have never eat at a Rainforest Cafe, it's in DtD and it a cool themed (chain) restaurant.

Wine Country Tratoria- in DCA is a really nice inexpensive sit down. It's one of my favs.

I also like Napa Rose (expensive), the Japanese place at PPH, Goofy's Kitchen and though not Disney I like Jazz Kitchen at DTD.

My favorite is The Blue Bayou. I recommend making a p.s. for your preferred date. Also, dining by the waterside, is something that i very much enjoy. That request cannot be made over the phone, but rather at the time that one checks in at the podium. Arrive at least 20 minutes early, so as to have a good opportunity to be seated waterside. You might even be seated earlier. I had been last year, when I dined there.
The ambiance is wonderful. One feels like they are dining al fresco, during the evening, but yet, one is indoors during the day (Unless of course, it is night outside too)

We love Napa Rose but did not mention it because I assumed that you may have non-adults coming with you. I think it is great for an adult only dinner at the chef's table. No bad experiences at Hooks Point.

Best, atmosphere-wise: Blue Bayou. The food is kind of expensive for what it is, but the atmosphere is fabulous...the restaurant is located inside the Pirates of the Carribean ride!

Best food (in the Park), IMO: Cafe Orleans. Their gumbo is sooooooo good! If you go, be sure to try the Mickey shaped beignets!

Both of these you'll need to make PS "reservations" for, otherwise you may not get a table, especially when the Prk is crowded.

My family loves Storyteller's for dinner. They have both a small buffet and a menu to choose from and we love the flexibility of choosing which you prefer that day.

For just table service restaurants alone:

In DL, I like Carnation Cafe.

In DCA, I like Wine Country Trattoria

In the DLH, it's Goofy's Kitchen all the way (in fact, that is my favorite of all the DLR restaurants, in the parks or out of them)

In the GCH, I like Storytellers Cafe.

In DTD, I like Rainforest Cafe and Naples Ristorante - and ESPN Zone rocks (great chicken strips)!!

I have not eatent at any of the PPH places yet, and there are more table service places I need to try around the Resort.

You didn't mention if you have kids and if so, their ages.
We are three adults (my babygirl just turned 22 today!) and we like the following best...

DL - Cafe Orleans
DCA - Wine Country Trattoria
DTD - Jazz Kitchen
Character Meal - Goofy's for Dinner, Lilo & Stitch for Breakfast

Of course, Napa Rose is the best dining experience period, but I would not take small children there and it is very expensive.

We did try PCH Grill for dinner once and other than a bowl of fabulous homemade Mushroom Soup, the meal was very forgettable. Have a great trip.:)

I knew I would forget some important piece of info and it was about our family! We are a family of three, me, dh and dd17. Thanks so much for all the suggestions! I can't wait to try some of these. Any more would always be welcomed! :goodvibes

I really liked Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen in DTD. We went there our first night at DL and it really set the mood for the rest of the trip. We're even considering going back on our next trip, even though we've only got 3 days.

My favorites:

1) Blue Bayou - Traditional Sit down service - Best Theme - Make reservations as early as possible. I try and make ours a couple days out at least.
2) Rancho del Zocalo - Cafeteria style - Theme is nice as well since you overlook the last part of BTM
3) French Market Restaurant - Catereria Style - Never ate here until 2007 and was pleasantly surprised by it. Food was very tasty and portions were hearty.
4) Riverbelle Terrace - Cafeteria style - Breakfast tradition for my family. Only Mickey Mouse Pancake in the park.

Last time I went to the Rainforrest Cafe at downtown Disney, the food and service were horrible. I hope it's gotten better but I doubt I'll eat there on my next trip.

By far our favorite was Blue Bayou (food and atmosphere), we shared a monte cristo sandwich and had the chicken gumbo which was out of this world. We also had the pirate dessert which was OH SO YUMMY! We also tried Wine County, Cafe Orleans, Carnation Cafe, Jazz Kitchen, Tortilla Joe, Storyteller's Cafe. Our second favorite was definetly the Carnation cafe with the yummy potato soup :lovestruc
