We're headed to WDW in late April with our 3 year-old and 1 year-old. We've been to WDW a couple of times, but would like to branch out with our dining and try a few more sit-down restaurants. Our kids will eat anything, so I'm not worried about them being picky eaters. But what restaurants offer the best combination of theme/food/service for families?

I've already booked a character meal at Crystal Palace (Pooh and Tigger are faves in our house). I've also been considering the Sci-Fi Dine-In, The Rose and Crown (more for DH who likes his Black and Tans), Tony's (a past fave). Any comments or recommendations would be appreciated!

Coral Seas in EPCOT should keep everyone occupied and interested, the CP is our favorite too and maybe Mexico near the river? Good luck and enjoy.

Sci Fi may be a bit too dark and intense for your kids and they may not realize the "monsters" on the screen aren't real.
Some other options:
MGM: Mama Melrose's. they can have a pizza made-to-order and it's right outside the exit of the Muppets. you and DH can enjoy wonderfully prepared Italian dishes. we like this better (except for the fettucini) than Alfredo's in Italy.
EPCOT: Biergarten. lots of good buffet choices. entertainment every 40 minutes. lots to look at and the ability to walk around. Princess Breakfast in Norway--loads of real princesses.
MK: Tony's is ok. You picked a good character meal at the Crystal Palace.
Fort Wilderness: Hoop De Doo is fun fun fun. If not this trip, then try the next trip.
Ohanas in the Polynesian. Hula hoop contest and coconut rolling every 30 minutes. Good food and everyone can eat as much or as little of anything as they want.
Have a wonderful time. :cool1:

Germany's Beirgarten has a band that is very entertaining. It's a buffet so it's easy to find something for everyone. It's family style seating though so unless you have a party of eight you'll sit with other people. San Angel Inn in the pyramid is great! You can watch the boats (El Rio de Tempo ride) go by. We als like Teppanyaki - the chefs are very entertaining but it's a little loud and you smell like oil when you leave.

We like the Plaza on Main Street in the MK. The chair outside are a nice place to wait for a table - especially if you can catch a show at the castle. It's a sandwich shop and serves ice cream too. You won't be disappointed in the Crystal Palace.

The Sci-Fi is fun but if you sit in a car it's 2 people per seat and you look at the back of other people's heads. My kids are older now (10 & 12) so we like it but I don't know if I would have liked it when they were younger.

Chef Mickey's is a great meal anytime - another buffet with characters to entertain. O'hana's is another entertaining meal. They're very good with kids. The lobby is so beautiful to walk around.

Those are all good suggestions, but make sure you book a character meal. I haven't done the one at CP, but my daughter (3) really enjoyed the one at the Liberty Tree Tavern. It was a very memorable experience and the food was great for kids too.

Ohana's keeps the kids entertained with games and activities. We never heard one child cry during our dinner there. The kids seemed to be having a great time.
