Best sippy cup for Disney?

For any of you who said you have trouble switching to a sippy cup from a bottle I found the best cups! This has worked for 2 friends of mine also (one of them told me about them) Instead of the kind you tip your head back they are the straw ones. Nuby brand and they are the ones with a soft silicone straw that flips up. They are insulated too! I am crazy over these cups. :rotfl:

They have them at Walmart for sure and I think at Target too.

I'd go for a straw cup myself. I'm an early childhood special educator and every speech therapist I've worked with bemoans sippy cups and says how bad they are for children's oral motor development and articulation. As a result I never gave DS one. In addition I like the fact that the straw is covered most of the time -- I'm far from a germophobe but I like the fact that if the cup is bouncing around in your backpack etc . . . the part you actually drink from isn't touching anything.

I like the Playtex cups the best, but I might bring the disposable ones to Disney. I am afraid I might lose the Playtex cups at the parks.

We had a hard time trying to find a sippy cup that was easy to suck because of DD didn't have the strength to suck real hard. After buying at least 1 of every cup on the market (or maybe it just seemed like it ;) ) We finally found the Nuby brand at Walmart. She tried it, loved it, never wanted her bottle again! It has a really flexible spout and no extra vents to wash. Give those a try!

I agree that the NUBY brand cups are great for babies that are have trouble transitioning to a cup. My twin daughters were 15 months old and were not doing well with cups at all and we couldn't go "cold turkey", because we needed to make sure they got enough calories from milk. We used the NUBY cups like bottles for a couple of mornings and nights and now they will drink out of any sippy cup we give them!

We use the NUBY brand also, I can pick them up for $1.50 at Babies R Us and they don't leak at all! DD has a thing for throwing cups and I've seen fountains explode in the backseat of the van with the take and toss ones. The lids pop off too easily with the take and toss for us and I'm tired of cleaning up puddles!

I'm still trying to get my daughter on a sippy cup for disney. I've been trying since she was 9 months old and she is 14 months now. Any tips? With my boys, they basically just gave the bottle up.

Have you tried the sippy cups that have a straw. I had the hardest time to getting my son to drink from a regular sippy cup, bought one that had a straw in it and he had no problem.

It took my son the longest time to figure out how to use a straw, but once he did it was great. My daughter who is 13 mos, just figured it out the other day so I will be switching her to the straw cups. She seems to drink more too when she uses a straw vs sippy (doesnt have to work as hard). Hopefully she wont chew up the straws like my son did (be sure to check the straws often for this as he had chewed off pieces). If you go with straw cups, be sure to get a brand that sells the straws in the store. I had to order through the company online, but I did buy in bulk. One other note, with the Playtex Disney cups I just bought, I noticed the tops are interchangeable with other Playtex brand cups. I dont know if other brands are like that, but its a nice feature!

I use the straw cups too. The Munchkin ones work best for us because they are more spill proof with fewer parts than some of the others. They only have Dora and Sponge Bob, so of course we had to get some first years and playtex sippies for Disney. The first years ones are great because there is no valve to wash.

We just picked up the princess cups the other day at Target for our baby girl to have at Disney...they are insulated. I love the nuby cups too and that's our general day to day cup around here.

I tried the disposables one trip and did not care for them. DD wasn't used to them and would dribble little drops of milk everywhere. Sour milk + stroller padding = :crazy2:

So, our last trip we took 3 of the princess Playtex cups. They were fine. I did pack some dish soap cloths to wash them out each night. I also ordered a couple of custom koozies from this ebay store:

They are really cute and work well.

This year DD will be 2 1/2 so I am thinking this will be our first trip with NO bottles, NO baby food, and NO sippy cups!!! :woohoo:

My preference is the take n toss kind. They do have them with the insulation. I like them b/c they are easy to clean and with fewer parts esp. if you are washing sippies in a sink! And they aren't as expensive, so if it gets left or lost no biggie.
I alos bought the take N toss kind. We found ones at Walmart with Disney princess and Cars ones for DS. The only thing I don't like about them is they don't have a valve and DS shakes them and they leak a bit. The good thing is they can use them a couple days and throw them out.
