What is the best signature to take kids to? We liked the menu at YS, but I'm not sure if many young kids dine there? They are well behaved and we take them out immediately if need be. Any suggestions?

We have taken our DS15 to the Yachtsman Steakhouse since he was very little with no problems at all. We see children in there all the time. It's a nice restaurant. Also, forgot to add that we have dined at Narcoossee's, the California Grill, Brown Derby, Le Cellier and Artist point as well with our DS and we all had a great time.

Well behaved children dine at all of the signatures. The restaurants that I feel are the noisiest, due to the architecture and/or restaurant layout, are Ca Grill, Narcoosees, Brown Derby and Flying Fish and Le Cellier. The quietest are Citricos, Artist Point, Yachtsman and Jiko.

If you are willing to remove your child(ren) if they are disruptive, any of them will be fine. We've dined at all of them many times and especially at the earlier dining times, all of them will have several young diners.

I recommend Flying Fish. The restaurant is very colorful, lots to look at (find the fish), crayons and coloring placemats, fun desserts (paint your own white chocolate puzzle), and there is the entertainment right outside the door on The Boardwalk.

We have taken our children to California Grill every year we have gone to Disney. They love the atmosphere and seeing the Magic Kingdom while we eat. It is a meal we look forward to every year:goodvibes

My DS's favourite one is Jiko. Probably because he loves the dessert :rotfl: But i would agree that the signatures are fine for kids.

I have to say that the kids meals at Yachtman are great and I have eaten there with kids without any problem and they have loved their meal.

Another vote for Flying Fish! Our DS loves it so much that he was quite put out we went without him on our "date" for my birthday. We ended up canceling another reservation to take him before we left at the end of the week. Its bright, lots to look at and the staff are fabulous. He's been given special treats, his meal served very creatively and generally engaged by our servers who genuinely seem to want to take the tme. It was his one request for our upcoming trip - we are going to go twice! :cool1:

We've seen children of all ages at YS--usually very well behaved! I'm sure some parents have chosen to remove their little ones when their behavior warrents it.

Keep in mind, though, that they do not make accommodations for children (I think they have high chairs, but not sure about booster seats) in terms of things to entertain them. You'll need to bring some quiet toys/books for them, if needed.

It's a nice environment. Fairly quiet (we tend to dine a bit early or late, rarely at the prime dinner hour), not at all stuffy, with good food and service.

We've dined with our 2YO at Narcoossee's twice now. They've been very accomodating both times :) She was asleep once, so obviously very quiet, and the other time the waiter was very polite and asked frequently if she needed anything.

YS does have highchairs and boosters. They also have crayons and paper menus for the kids to color on. I will say that if anything the signatures that we've been to have been more than accommodating for kids. In fact more so than the regular restaurants.

Thanks for all the opinions! I fell more confident about choosing a signature. Now to pick one, they all look so good... :)

So happy to hear it!

We've taken our three boys to many signatures. Our older boys have always been extremely well-behaved in restaurants (they are now pre-teens, so no concerns) but our 4-year-old has lots of energy so we were initially hesitant. I'm not sure why, but he does wonderfully in Disney signatures. And sometimes, he just falls asleep. We started trying signatures with early ADRs, but moved to 7pm or 7:30pm reservations. We usually eat around 7pm at home, so that fit for us and we were just as comfortable dining at that time with kids as we were with earlier ADRs.

We've taken kids to California Grill, Brown Derby, Le Cellier, Flying Fish, Yachtsman, Jiko, Il Mulino and Bluezoo. I think the kids' favorite is Le Cellier, with California Grill coming in second. My favorites are Jiko (for the food and atmosphere), California Grill (for the view and sushi), Le Cellier (for the food and cozy decor) and Yachtsman (for the casual, comfy atmosphere and food.)

Good luck with your decision!
