Best shopping, Freeport or Nassau?

I heard one of these markets burned down a few years ago and the replacement market is not as big or good. I cannot remember which one it was. Should we not waste our time and leave the ship for one of either of these?

we just came back from 4 day Wonder cruise....

Nassau has straw market, a very short walk from ship....lots of handcrafted goods made by the locals....particularly nice was a large straw bag adorned with embroidered fruit , only $12.00....i would say a trip to the straw market is well worth it....shopping IMO is much better in Nassau.....Freeport has a very small version of a straw mkt adjacent to ship.....

I THINK it was the straw market that burned down in Nassau, but I'm not sure.

I would stick to Nassau personally, some of the designer stores include I think Gucci, Cartier, Fendi, I THINK I saw a Louis, but thats just me

I would say Nassau, too. I liked their shopping area.
