We're less than 24 hrs from departure!!! WHHHHEEEEE!!!

:cool1: :cheer2: :bounce:

And unfortunately, rain is back in the forecast! Scattere showers on Mon, Tues, Wed, AND Thurs. No matter! We've got ponchos; we're gonna be fearless!

Now, my best question is what kind of shoes are best in the rain? I'm taking a pair of Keen sandals (www.keenfootwear.com, the "newport" model) and am toying with the idea of running out and buying a pair of tennies before I go in case that would be better!

Opinions please!!!

I am a Teva girl and have worn them through many a Florida Shower/ Hurricane. I hope you have :sunny: and don't need :umbrella: Have a great trip!

Waterproof sandals like Teva Pretty Rugged Nylon straps. Dry very quickly and comfy with no blisters.

Sneakers are the worst when you are stuck in a down pour in the middle of MK!! Some areas flood and are about a inch or two deep! That's how I got blisters on our first trip!

We will be there the week after Easter and the chance of rain is good given the time of year. I have been thinking of the Newports as well. To the Teva girl - Have you found Tevas with a well cushioned sole? I like the look of Tevas but the models I have seen in stores are always so stiff.

Teva come in all kinds of styles; some are cheaper and no padding and some are more expensive for walking and have good padding. I researched this before I bought mine because I wanted a really good walking sandal with padding and shock absorbtion. I bought Teva Pretty Rugged which has extra soft padding. VERY comfy.

I'm wearing Teva Pretty Rugged Leather sandals if it's dry, but stuffing a pair of Teva Olowuhu or Teva Mush flip flops in my bag in case it rains. Can you tell I like Tevas?

Lands End. I just bought my girls another pair for our upcoming trip.

action sandals

They also have these in adult sizes. Mine still look good from last summer. I got the slip on version without the heel strap.

I wear Tevas pretty much exclusively all year. Obviously there are tons of different models. I like the models that are specifically for land and water. EDIT: I believe I have the Terra Fi now.

I never think about it. Walking around the park, rain or shine. Also, at the beach, over sand, rocks, into the water. Whatever. :)

I have permanent "Teva tan".

We, too, are leaving in less than 24 hours, and I can't believe how much rain is in the forecast!!!! :umbrella:

We wear Crocs and Reef flip/flops, by the way. Both are sooooo comfortable and dry quickly.

I personally perfect my beat up sneakers with 2 pairs of socks

my favorite in the hot, wet, summer are tevas...i got the better ones, nylon with the padding to keep you from getting blisters

Check their web site. They have HUGE savings on everything. They had a wide selection of Tevas and Merrills. I ordered a pair of Eccos (sooo comfortable but you won't win the fashion show :teeth: ) and saved over 50%.

My $1 Target flip flops. We had horrid rainshowers last trip and I packed them in my bag. When it started to rain I stoped at a covered spot, changed out of my tennies and into my flip flops and kept going. Once it stopped, I'd hop into the bathroom, dry off my feet and put my tennies back on.
