Best shoes for Disney World

I have seen Crocs out and about. Thought they were too gosh awful ugly things. Never would I be caught dead in those. But after reading all Disers love for these I decided to take a gander at the site. Well, I found these...

I am a Teva girl, all the way.

I can't stand the sight of crocs, though my Dad, brother-in-law and nephew all swear by them!

P.S. Watch out for your kids in crocs on escalators! Disaster!!!

I'm a crocs gal and I converted my DH to wear these as well. My calfs use to be always a little sore by the end of the second day and I thought maybe I was a little out of shape. But man, two years ago I switched to Crocs and seriously, have not felt tired since (because of walking at least). My husband has tried Merrells, walking sneakers and others until finally I convinced him to try a pair of crocs, even though we brought backup shoes. Now he's a crocs guy, at WDW at least.

Wow, wish I could wear Crocs, but with my bad feet and back no way. I invested in a nice pair of Dansko sandals that are awesome, and will be taking my clogs with me I don't care what they look like if my feet start to hurt thats all I wear on a daily basis can't stand sneakers. So I look like a dutch lady who care my feet won't hurt. So if your there next week and see a crazy lady wearing capri's and clogs, stop and say HI

Months ago I read a similar thread where Teva flipflops were recommended. I found last year's styles on sale for $10 so I bought several pairs for myself and one pair each for dh and my kiddos. Dh and the kiddos haven't tried them yet, but I wore mine all summer. At first my legs got a bit sore in them, and the fabric in btwn. my toes caused a hot spot (but no blister), however after the first week of wearing them they were perfectly comfy and I'm definitely packing them for my WDW trip in Dec.

I plan on bringing a pair of running shoes, a pair of beach crocs, and a pair of Teva flipflops for each of us so we can wear what is most comfy and switch off when necessary.

I am not a sneaker wearer, my feet need to breathe! I normally just wear regular old flip flops. This year i'm trying the crocs thing.

Yup - that's the first thing I think of when I think of plastic shoes - breathable!

Let me start by saying I LOVE my Crocs (Cleos), in fact I just bought 2 more pair this week off the website.
However, I have noticed that the bottoms do wear down rather quickly (I do wear my black ones every single day).
I did read on another board here that you have to watch out when the bottoms flatten out, as they become extremely slippery when it's wet outside.
So, I thought I would pass that on.
I have not experienced that yet myself, so cannot verify.

I haven't yet worn my Cleos to Disney- but I will be in March and I anticipate a happy trip! My legs and hips bother me when I wear sneakers, but no complaints when I wear my CROCS!
Please don't judge based on the original CROCS- there truly are some cute ones out there, and I count Cleos in that category.

I usually alternate between my Disney Crocs, Croc Flip Flops and my New Balance! I think rotating my shoes help my feet not get tired or hurt!

Ah, well, in that case, I *highly* recommend Keens. They are not cutesy sandals, but they are amazingly comfortable and supportive, and do well if they get wet.

Another vote for Keens. I have always had bad feet and had to soak my feet at night and use aleve to hobble along. I then went with the expensive fitted walking shoes - until my ddil traveled with us last year in a new pair of Keens and was the only person whose feet didn't hurt. I now have two pair and I hiked all over WDW with never a thought for my feet. Truly amazing. I love them. They are open, excellent for letting your feet spread out, and wonderful if they get wet. They are also not slippery and you don't sweat in them. Best of all my feet are happy for the first time in decades.
