In January, I will be taking my in-laws for their very first trip to WDW. My father-in-law is very "particular" when it comes to the service at restaurants. Being that I am the "expert" on WDW, it will be my responsibility to narrow down the list of restaurants for us to dine. I would love to avoid having to walk out of a restaurant if service is too slow or having the manager come to the table, etc. The solution is to dine where the service is top-notch.

Which restaurants in WDW, either located in parks or resorts, offer the best service?

EDIT: I am going to keep a running total here on the top post.

Le Cellier 3
California Grill 6
Artist Point 2
Yachtsman 2
Citricos 3
Flying Fish 1
Narccossees 1
Il Mulinos 1
Shula's Steakhouse 1
Jiko 1
Bistro de Paris 1
Victoria & Alberts 1

We've always had good service at Le Cellier and California Grill.

Hands down.... California Grill

Other restaurants can be hit or miss, but only the best of the best seem to be on the staff at the California Grill.

For us, the best consistent service is at Artist Point or Yachtsman. Our experience at CG hasn't been as good as the other posters so it just goes to show you that you can't really judge by only a few comments.

You might want to take a look at two current thread's here on the DIS;

I have usually had superb service at California Grill but the last time I went there our server was a bit...dopey. Like a loon, really.

I am never disappointed by the service at Le Cellier. The servers are incredibly friendly and for the most part the service is impeccable.

For the most part the service at WDW is quite good. I'll post again or edit this post if I think of anything to add...

Hi, we have had some of the BEST servers at Citricos. We have also had very good servers at YSH,CG,FF and Narccossees. Also you may want to mention when you check-in at the restaurant podium that your father-in-law is VERY particular. This SHOULD be their clue to give you an EXPERIENCED server!! Joan

I think I will edit my original post to keep a running total of votes.

Is there any restaurants that people have found the service to be consistently poor?

Il Mulino's at the Swan and Shula's Steakhouse at the Dolphin have the best service on property that we have experianced.

Ironically, we've had both the best and worst service at Jiko (usually among the best tho'). We've always had top notch service at Citricos, and their food is awesome. If I was looking for great service, that would probably be my choice.

The best service we had was at Citricos, followed by Artist Point and California Grill.

We ate at Le Cellier in June and the service was awesome! My DH was really thirsty because we had been walking so much, and the server kept refilling his glass. She even joked she was doing her best to keep up with him! She also kept bringing out more pretzel bread!:thumbsup2

I can't stress how great the sevice at Citricos is. In each of our four visits the servers have gone beyond what's expected. On our last visit, after listening to us jaw about the excellent cuisine and wine at Artist Point, our waiter brought the chef over.

"What's this I hear about Artist Point?" he demanded. He sent over samples from the kitchen for the three of us, each one better than the last.

I can't comment on V&A since we haven't tried it, but the servers at Citricos seem to genuinely like working there, and that's rare in this age in a tourist trap like WDW.

Thanks everyone. Keep the suggestions coming. Right now while I am leaning towards Citrico even though California Grill has more votes, my wife is just the opposite.

I haven't been to every restaurant on your list, so can't rightfully compare them all, but we have had excellent service at:

Artist Point and Narcoossee's

You have my sympathy. Sounds like a lot of pressure trying to please such a "particular" person. Do you often have to walk out of restaurants?

I would suggest you let Mr. Pickey choose the restaurants so he only has himself to blame. Sounds like no amount of service will please this guy.

By the way, I recommend Le Cellier because we Canadians are all so friendly, as you can probably tell.:rotfl2:

We have had beyond excellent service at the California Grill. Citricos was wonderful as well but not quite as excellent as at the California Grill. Either would be a good choice.

Although we have not yet eaten there (we have chef's table reservations for our upcoming trip), Victoria and Albert's is a Zagat's 5 star and a triple AAA 5 diamond (or whatever). I would imagine your father in law would be happy with Victoria and Albert's.

Enough said! There really is no other choice than V&A. If you want the best service in Florida then it is V&A. In addition to the best service you get the very best cuisine hands down.
