Sorry I know that this thread has been done before but I haven't yet booked my seats - flying Manc-orl Int (24 August). There's just me and my boyfriend and we're not wide or tall, so do you think there is a need to book - I would like us to have 2 seats on there own, if there is such a thing. Any tips on which seats to ask for before I phone?

13 weeks tomorrow then bliss:D:D

Hi

It's possible to look at a seating plan for Virgin on their website. Go to sitemap and look at the section called our fleet.

There are some seats at the very back of the plane in economy are in pairs so if you can pre-book those then they're quite good. They feel a bit more spacious there than the normal seats.

If you check out the thread below/above this one titled "Check how full your Virgin flight is", it tells you how you can look at the seating plan for a Virgin flight. You will also know which seats have already been prebooked.

Sorry, can't help you with which seats are best as it will be our first time with Virgin.

If you are flying by jumbo I would advise against sitting near the back.

I flew BA to NY in 1998 and at the back of their jumbo's are a block of 4 toilets I think. Anyway we were 3 rows forward of these, booked because they were in a block of 2 and all through the flight was a constant Q for the toilets past our seat and by half way through, a nasty pungent odour of you know what!!

Not worth trading for a stranger sitting next to you IMO.

I would advise against sitting at the back for a totally different reason - chances are this won't affect you, but for me it's a major issue.

I am a VERY fussy eater. Typically I will only like one of the two (or three if you get a good flight!) meals offered at each sitting, and even then will probably only like bits of that!

If you sit at the back then you will be last served. And guess which will be the menu choice that disappears before the cart gets to you? Yup, the one YOU want. It never fails!

Lst couple of times I've flown with Virgin and BA they started ti serve from the rear of the cabin, so no problems with running out of food choices.

Regards

Rob

We also like to get the seats in pairs at the back and would agree that there seems to be more legroom (not a lot more!).
