My DH is a seafood lover - me no so much, except fish. Looking for your favorite seafood places, with other options for me. We are going in March, have the DDP, and other "passenger" is DD (5). Thanks in advance for your input! :flower3:

We did Cape May and Coral Reef. I really enjoyed Cape May and really didn't care for Coral Reef at all.

We like Coral Reef, but if you don't mind budgeting two credits for the meal, Flying Fish is as good as it gets on the dining plan.

Flying Fish is the best you will get on the dining plan. Other choices are Narcoosees, Coral Reef and Cape May buffet. These 3 are not in the same league as Flying Fish.

I would agree and also add that Fulton's is going to be added to the DPP next year (2TS credits) and it is a great choice for shellfish.

. . . agreed
. . . best on DDP

. . . is this confirmed?
. . . they have been on Premium and Platinum, but not DDP
. . . Levy restaurants haven't liked the DDP reimbursement amounts
. . . they own Portobello, Fulton's, Wolfgang's Grand Cafe

I would choose Cape May. It's really pretty good and there are lots of options for both of you.

Enjoy.

:)

For seafood, we hit Flying Fish Cafe! Actually, it's a good mix for the seafood lovers and the landlubbers (aka steak-and-potatoes crowd) alike!

Cape May! All the way. we tried it last year for the first time and I think its the best deal on the ddp.

Cape May is very good and so is Coral Reef. We dined at Narcoossee's this past May and we all thought that was excellent. We are going to try out Flying Fish in January and DH and I are really excited about that :goodvibes.

Completely agree with this. Flying Fish is the best seafood on the DDP.

Geez,

I'd give a SLIGHT nod to Narcoosees over Flying Fish for my number one choice, but it's almost too close to call.

Cape May is a buffet, so if you have big eaters in your party this is a consideration, but the quality of the seafood itself is only average at best. (But, there are many non-seafood choices as well, so keep that in mind...)

And, IMO, stay FAR away from The Coral Reef. It was once a great restaurant, but those days are gone.

Here's a vote for the Flying Fish. The red Snapper and Scallops are the best!

Thanks for all the wonderful suggestions! I definitely want to do Flying Fish for DH even if it is 2 TS credits. Here are the ADRs we have so far:

Garden Grill (arrival night)
(D)
Crystal Palace
(D)
Akershus
(D)
Whispering Canyon Cafe
(D)
Tusker House
(B)
50's Primetime Cafe
(D)
Liberty Tree (last night)
(D)

My thought is we could cancel Garden Grill the first night and do a QS meal somewhere since we don't arrive until around Noon, saving the extra TS for Flying Fish, and schedule Flying Fish in place of the 50s Primetime spot. Maybe reschedule Garden Grill for the last night and nix Liberty Tree so that DD has a character meal before we leave the next day. I didn't pick 50s or Liberty Tree, those were scheduled by my agent. Thoughts or suggestions?

I would cancel 50's primetime only because I like to spend my last night at disney in the magic kingdom. Just a personal choice and we very much enjoyed our dinner at liberty tree in oct.

I think Cape May Seafood Buffet is the best buffet for a dining credit because if you go and pay OOP for the buffet it is around $38-$40 per person for dinner. It is crazy expensive but for just ONE TS credit you can eat there. Great choice if you have the DDP.

I revised our ADRs to:

NO ADR (arrival night)

Crystal Palace
(D)

Akershus
(D)

Whispering Canyon Cafe
(D)

Tusker House
(B)

Flying Fish
(D)

Garden Grill (last night)
(D)

Saving the 1st night TS for the 2 we'll need for FF. We are arriving around Noon-1pm and coming from WI, thought this was a good option in case we have travel issues, that way we have no reservation to worry about cancelling. Looking for first night CS options - thought of taking the boat (we are staying at POFQ) and heading to DD. Ideas on CS places to eat?

Also, what is the the best options for transportation to/from our dinner ADRs from our resort? Keeping in mind we will likely be at the parks in the morning and coming back to our resort in the afternoon for some R&R.

Thanks (again)! :goodvibes
