Best school name ever?

Hey, you were our rivals! We were the Hilltoppers. Yeah, no real mascot but the picture in the foyer is a guy on a mountain wearing lederhosen.
I'm in college now and we're the Pride, as in lions. We apparently used to be the Flying Dutchman - now that's much better than some lions haha!

Its been 20 years since i was a whaler, but i remember the rivalry. I can't really seem to remember ever seeing your mascot though.

I'm not sure if is University of Deleware or another NE college but I know they are the Blue Hens. How scary is a chicken? In El Campo just southwest of Houston they are the El Campo Ricebirds. It even has it on the water tower in town.

Yep...My alma matter...the Fighting Delaware Bluehens. We have season tickets. Worse yet...YouDee is the mascot...it's a big blue Chicken. Get it? UD???

Fear the bird!!

The high school mascot in the town where I went to college was a zipper...

seriously!

The grape one is my favorite on this thread by far though!

I had to read through this thread to see if anybody posted my college alma mater - Slippery Rock University. When I was there we were "the Rock" with a mascot that was...(wait for it)...a rock! Rocky, our rock, looked like a big grey sweatsock.
My senior year at SRU Rocky was killed and replaced by a fierce looking Lion (also named Rocky) and the catch phrase for all the teams was "Rock Pride!". Okay...:confused3 :rotfl:

I went to an arts middle school. We were the Stars.

Talk about meanacing.
North Middle School used to be the Stars - get it? The North Stars :lmao:

They are now the "Junior Huskies" since the High School's mascot is the Huskies. The middle-schoolers wear t-shirts that say, "Don't call us puppies!" :rotfl:

And I went to a HS (Moorhead, MN)whose Mascot was a Spud. Yup--a potato. So at hockey games the other team would thrrow potatoes onto the ice!:rotfl:

I went to college in that town - MSU's mascot was much better - the Dragons. Definitely beats the Concordia Cobbers, another Moorhead school. :)

My high school - Anoka - originally had the Spuds as a mascot until the 1920's when a tornado tore through town... and now they are the Anoka Tornadoes. I always thought that was a pretty cool, something a little different with a story.

I think my favorite so far has been the Grapes. That's just hilarious!

I think it'd be hard to beat the Watersmeet (MI) Nimrods!!!
