Who has the best salads? Mainly interested in counter service, though if you have info on TS restaurants I'd love to hear it too! I know most anywhere offers salads now as their one vegeterian/"healthy" entree, but that doesn't mean they are all equal. So who has the best ones? Who has the ones that should be avoided at all costs? I'm a big salad eater trying to stay healthy on my trip, but you can never tell from the description or photo how good it will be.

IMO, CS salads were pretty blah. Epcot's Sunshine Season's probably had the best to offer that I found. I eat a LOT of salad but I really hate salad that is just a bunch of iceberg lettuce with some cheese and croutons (which I don't eat b/c I'm a raw vegan) thrown on top. I had much better luck at TS. Tusker House & Boma had nice salad options!

If the trip is doable, the house salad at Artist's Palette at SSR is delicious.

House Salad - Field greens, dried cranberries and blueberries, apples, and honey-roasted walnuts tossed with lemon-poppy seed dressing and crispy ciabatta croutons. - $7.49

I was addicted to the Chicken Caeser Salad at Mara (AKL). The chicken was marinated in some kind of spices and mmmmm it was good!

I had an amazing salad at The All Star Movies food court, it is huge and you get to pick the toppings (they have a lot of topping choices). Honestly I feel it was worth it to make a stop there even if I was not staying there, it was that good :)

I am pretty sure there was a salad similar to this at Fort Wilderness Trails End Buffet, we stopped there for lunch...it was very affordable (out of pocket...not DDP for us last visit :sad2:) and I just couldn't get enough!

I really enjoyed this salad at Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch...

Colony Salad - Washington apples, sweet pecans and applewood smoked cheddar and grilled chicken tossed with field greens in honey shallot vinaigrette

It was very good and very filling

Ths salads at Pinnochio Haus are also good (CS), this one is my favorite

Mediterranean Salad - mixed greens, chicken, roasted red peppers, black olives and red onions, mozzarella cheese

This may sound crazy but I LOVED the Pizza Planet Chicken Salad at the Toy Story Pizza Planet in DHS last July. It had chicken, greens, tomato, veggies and diced cantaloupe. I normally despise cantaloupe but I actually like it in this salad. It was diced up pretty small also, which helped! I had originally planned to just eat around it but I just had it with the salad! I had the light Italian dressing with the salad and loved it.

In addition, the CS location at Epcot in morocco had delicious tabouli salad included in the shawarma platter. Loved it!

For TS, the salads at the buffets were always good, for me. We ate dinners at 1900 Park Fare, Boma (very unique salads there and really good), Crystal Palace, and Biergarten. All had delicious salads on the buffet! The salad given with the dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern was also delicious!

In MK at Cosmic Rays I had a decent Julienne Salad: meat & veggies. Tasted great with or without the various dressings. Think they also had a salad w/out meat. My salad was plenty big for one!

At Blizzard Beach I had the Cobb Salad, again with my choice of dressings. That too was quite good, w/ or w/out the dressing. There was meat on that.

I don't remember any salad offering at Typhoon Lagoon that looked appetizing enough to order... but there may have been.

I have heard good things about the All Stars counterservice salad station (not a self serve salad bar, but the counter agent builds the salad as you instruct).

The Wave has this to die for avocado/citrus salad, I could eat my weight in it

DH has a thing for tomato/mozz/basil salad and the one from Tonys on Main Street is fantastic

But our all time favorite is the one from Jiko with the lemon dressing and fresh eatable flowers and herbs...wow it was amazing

I'm a really big fan of the salad at Flame Tree BBQ in Animal Kingdom. I love the Balsamic Vinaigrette dressing.

Mixed Green Salad with Barbecue Chicken -- crisp greens and tomato with balsamic vinaigrette dressing in a toasted garlic shell $7.49; without chicken $5.19

The Beach Club Marketplace, and Roaring Fork at WL offer a salad that's made for you from any of the fresh ingredients that they have. Roaring Fork has a very delicious apple vinegrette dressing, it is my favorite, but the BC Marketplace is also very good.
I've gotten the salad at Mara without the chicken, and that would be my third favorite.

I second this vote! This is one of the best salads ever! Love it, even more than the pot roast. :goodvibes

I'm not a big salad fan, but I loved the Declaration Salad at LTT. It is just tossed greens, but the Starwberry Vinaigrette Dressing is delicious. When I read the menu online, I thought it didn't sound very good, but I was pleasantly surprised.

Someone on these boards raved about the BLT salad at Columbia Harbour House at MK. Here's a description:

BLT Salad - Mixed greens with crispy chicken, bacon, egg, and tomato $7.19

They said they would defin. go back for that salad. :goodvibes

I really loved the salad's at Pinnochio's Village Haus and at Columbia Harbour House... soo good.

This is my favorite too!

I don't know where you are staying but the salad at POR is my favorite. You can choose chicken or steak and then all the toppings and dressing. It is fantastic!!!
