Best RTS Game

I'm looking to find a new game for my dad for x-mas. He loves RTS games. Are there any new ones that are really fun? He has played empire earth and civilizations to death and I was wondering if there were similar games that were just as good. He did not care for Age of Empires.

I don't know what the differences are between them to even determine what would be a good game!

Real Time Strategy Games. They are for the PC. They are like the war simulation games where you build up your army and fight.

Empire Earth is basically just like AoE from what I've seen, so that might have just been a lucky choice. Civilization is not an RTS game, its a turn-based empire building game.

Try Rise of Nations, basically a cross between civ and EE.
