We will be renting a car for the first time in Sept. Previously we always took a towncar. All you Orland area experts, what is the best route to take from MCO to OKW? I know that the towncar service usually uses the BeeLine, but isn't there an alternate route? We would like to stop at the publix market to pick up some groceries.

Any suggestions?

I've driven both the Bee Line (528) and the Greenway (417) to OKW/WDW. The Greenway was so quiet I thought I was on the wrong road.

If you want to stop at a Publix, there's one not far from the Bee Line, near SeaWorld, at the Williamsburg Shopping Center (on Central Florida Parkway). There are also a couple on 192 in Kissimmee, which would be closer to the Greenway.

The best route to OKW is the Greeneway. Take the South airport exit to the Greeneway (417) West. It's a toll road but (as I recall) there are only two toll booths between the airport and WDW, and there's seldom any traffic (unlike the Beeline).

There will be some signs telling you which exit to take according to where you want to go on-property. Take the 536 exit to Epcot, Downtown Disney, etc. This will lead you straight into WDW as 536 becomes Epcot Center Dr.

You can follow the signs to the OKW exit but there's a shortcut. Once you get past the WDW gate take the Downtown Disney exit. This is Bonnet Creek Pkwy. Go straight through the light (I recommend waiting for it to turn green) then stay on Bonnet Creek until you get to Community Drive. Turn right on Community Drive and OKW will be on your right.

I've heard there's a Publix at 192 and 535. Perhaps someone more familiar with the area can add a comment.

I've done both the Bee Line and Greenway (417). I like the south route via 417. Hardly any traffic.
