Best route from Dallas?

We will be leavin' DFW in 4 short days. 7pm Thanksgiving night we will be pullin' out. For those of you who have braved this drive before what is the best route. We will be drivin' straight through the night. There will 7 adults between two cars, so having someone ready to go shouldn't be a problem.

Considering the ice storm that is slamming Texas and is expected to move east, I would advise driving as carefully as possible. I also have driven through an ice storm to the Fort, which was NO fun at all. I would recommend angling down from DFW to HOU and hop on I-10. I-10 will take you all the way to the I-75 interchange for the drive south to Orlando. Check the Department of Transportation websites for each of the states you will pass through for current road conditions.

I would take I 49 South from Shreveport which has far less traffic.
Then take I 12 split out of Baton Rouge to by pass N.O. Reconnect to 10 all the way to exit 262 A onto I 75 then Turnpike exit at #328 then exit off 429 via 267A to Tampa which goes to Western Way exit 8 into WDW.

Well, it took 23 hours, but we made it to Orlando. Staying in hotel tonight then early check in at the fort. I'm literally wore out.
