Best rooms with 3 sleeping surfaces

We are a family of 4, but the kids really can't sleep in a bed together, and if we split up and share with a kid each, we just end up with no one sleeping, resulting in cranky kids and parents! So for our next trip we were looking at rooms where we could split up the kids for sleeping....we're considering renting DVC points for the 5 person studios at several resorts, or the cabins at the Fort, or maybe the bunk bed rooms at AKL (but this is by far the most expensive option). Any recommendations/best options? I'm tying to balance reasonable costs with getting the best nights sleep so we can spend our days really enjoying Disney!

Thanks!

You already mentioned most of your options. Your other option will be port Orleans which they now have a bookable category for rooms that have 3 somewhat beds or a family suite at the values. It would help if you say what category you are speaking of as if you stay Value your cheapest option is to bring or buy a blow up (keep it or leave it at the end) you can get a decent one for 50 or less.

Thanks. We'd be flying in from Canada, so bringing a mattress isn't an option, although I guess we could buy one there. We did our last stay in All Star Music in a regular room, and it was not good for sleeping. The family suites seem to be almost as much as going to a deluxe, so I'd rather do that for that money! I'll look at Port Orleans as well, thanks, I hadn't really looked there. :)

I think Caribbean Beach or Port Orleans Riverside are your cheapest options. These resorts have two queen beds and a twin size Murphy bed. I think they're more comfortable than a DVC studio since the studios have a couch bed. I'd check those two out.

I think the drop down Murphy beds are smaller than a twin. How old are your children?

This wouldn't be the cheapest option, but a number of the deluxes have two queens and a twin-sized daybed in their standard rooms. That would be GF, CR, Poly, YC, BC and BWV. I think.

Oh, I didn't realize Carribean beach had the same drop down bed as the deluxe studios I've been looking at. My daughter (youngest) will be 9-10 when we go, I think she should still be fine in that :) Thanks!

When looking at POR, make sure to price out a Preferred Room or "5th sleeper" room to guarantee the pull-down bed. CBR also has pull down beds. You would need to book "5th sleeper" to guarantee it.

My 11 year old neice, who is 5'4", was able to sleep on the murphy bed very comfortably on our last trip. We stayed at POR.

Jut to clarify the drop down beds at the moderates are smaller than the ones in the DVC Studios. I saw the dimensions in another thread but I can't remember where/or just how much smaller they are!

I've stayed in both and the seemed exactly the same to me. If there is a difference, it's not a big one. I would try to verify the accuracy of this.

Let me try and find the post - I asked because my dd sleeps fine on the Boardwalk Murphy bed and I was considering doing a few nights at POR if the Murphy bed was the same size.

Someone responded to my post with the dimensions and it seems quite a bit smaller, enough so that we stayed with our Boardwalk reservation.

Our last trip we stayed at POR and then a DVC studio at the Poly. The murphy bed seemed exactly the same in both and my 11 year old (who is tall) slept fine in both.

A blow up mattress wouldn’t take much space. Or order from amazon and have it delivered to the resort.

Huh, I honestly didn't notice a difference at all. Either way, even with the shorter beds at POR, I think a 9-year-old would be comfortable on it.

They are shorter and narrower - I didn't see where the OP mentioned how old the kids were but the fact is that the murphy beds at the moderates are smaller than the ones in the DVC studio rooms.

She said her youngest will be 9/10 when they go. It can work for an average-sized child that age - especially if the OP is trying to save a little money. There's a huge difference in price between a moderate and a deluxe. Renting DVC may be a cheaper way to do it, but personally, I wouldn't want to stay for longer than a couple of nights on one of the couch beds in the DVC studio - the ones we've had at the Poly and Boardwalk were terrible. Two queen beds and a murphy would win for me every time.

Yes I do see now that her dd is younger and will fit in the murphy bed so this does give them another choice for their family, good news!

The fact remains that the murphy bed in the moderates is smaller than those in the DVC studios, as I said in my original statement and the OP isn't the only one reading this thread.

POR and CBR - 30" x 63"
BWV, BC & VWL - 33" x 72"
