I am going to reserve a room tomorrow at Hojos for the end of July. What should I request? We are going to ask for a Disney view...would like comfy queen size beds and a balcony if possible...I was going to do the package (5 nights for the price of 3), but it's the same price to just book 5 nights and get to request which room we want...How does that work out to '2 nights free'? Anyway, I would appreciate any info before I book...thanx...

I have never stayed here, but i thought the 5 for 3, was pay for 3 and get 2 nights free when you book a 5 day package. hmm, not sure?

I thought is was two nights free, and the travel agent at AAA said it was, but the math doesn't work out for me...How can it be two nights free if it's the same price to buy tics and book the rooms separately (paying for all 5 nights)?

I don't think HoJo is participating in the buy 3, get 2 free deal. I could be wrong, but there was a list of participating hotels somewhere and HoJo wasn't on it.

Regarding room requests, all Disney view rooms are in Building 1, and they all have balconies. I would request a room closest to the elevators, which puts you farthest from the freeway wall.

If you like a skylight with vaulted ceilings (read: early morning sun), request a room on the 7th floor. Otherwise, 4-6 floors have good views too.

Thank You. That's helpful. The 7th floor sounds pretty...and none of us mind the light. Plus we want to get there for EE or when the parks open, so that might be a good request. Maybe you are right about Hojo not participating in the 2 nights free. I wonder which hotels are participating and why the travel agents at AAA never seem to know what's going on... :confused3

We stayed in room 1713, top floor of Building one, and loved it! We had a nice, mostly unobstructed view of the Matterhorn and the room was great! Large and comfy, with two queen beds and a sink and mirror outside the bathroom as well as inside. We loved the skylight, too.

There are large ponderosa pines planted in front of building one, and they obstruct the view in front of some windows, but we requested an unblocked view and got it. There's pictures taken from our balcony (and a video) in my trip report, linked in my siggy below, on page 5.

we had a nice view an nice room dont forget to mintion dis boards to in house resvation an you can get 15% off.

We always request building 1, Disney facing....Sometimes however you may have a tree in the way..but that is our favorite building to stay in..

can you not have 4 people to one room?

I was trying to plug in my dates and it would only let me choose 3 adults?

I guess I would just have to call instead of trying to figure it out on their website...Thanks!

I am not sure we were supposed to have 6 in the room, but we did! :) (for some reason I am thinking 5 is supposed to be the max in the standard rooms, I could be wrong though).

With HoJo, I would always suggest calling over trying to book over the phone. Call the hotel directly Mon-Fri 9-5 pacific time, and ask for IN HOUSE reservations-- you'll talk to Jennifer or Lorealle, both of whom are wonderful, friendly, and so helpful. You'll always get the best rate they can give you, and they'll make notes of any requests and try to get you just what you need. I know that they'll take 5 in a room. The rooms are big, there are 2 queen beds and plenty of room for a rollaway.

It is for a standard non suite room. It is the fire code. My brother got evicted 2 years ago from one of the local hotels and had to stay a long ways away since everything was full.

i never knew you could get evicted from a hotel??? Interesting..

It appears that some are more strick with the occupancy rules than others. A number of places in Seattle and S.F. were notorious about making sure that they met the rules. Besides problems with their insurance brokers, they book by the person and the established codes. Since there are six of us, we could not stand to be in close proximity of each other for a week at a time.

Yes, a lot of hotels have a 4 person maximum as well--which makes it tough for us (family of five). Luckily DLH, GC, and Hojos all let you have 5 in them. It has to do with the local fire codes, and they have to evict you by law if they find out you have more than the code allows. They could get heavily fined or shut down if it is discovered they are breaking the fire code.

As far as Hojos, we are requesting building 1, disney facing, 7th floor.

Request all you want but check in early. We booked in Dec for our April stay. We wanted premium Disney view 7th floor. We checked in after 9pm and all that was left was 5th floor behind a thick patch of those trees. I was crushed!!

We just got back and were in Bldg. 2. The rooms were nice, the pool view was nice, all the rooms seemed to have a balcony. But the walk from the corner of Harbor/Manchester seemed so LONG every morning and evening! I would rather have a room right up front instead of one w/ a pool view just to avoid the walk!

p.s. Its probably not *that bad* but I'm 29 weeks pregnant and at the end of the day any distance is too long :)
